Add Dolsi to the list

He's a longshot, but Leyland mentioned him after the game as being among the candidates for that last spot or two in the bullpen. Given that, here's what we have:

Todd Jones, Bobby Seay, Tim Byrdak, Jason Grilli and Zach Miner are in, according to Leyland, barring something drastic happening. Fernando Rodney is also in if/when he's healthy.

There are five or six candidates fighting for the final two spots, according to Leyland, depending on Rodney's status. That list is believed to be Denny Bautista, Yorman Bazardo, Freddy Dolsi, Preston Larrison, Aquilino Lopez and Francisco Cruceta (if he gets here anytime soon).

If Rodney is ready for opening day, Leyland said, that list whittles down by a couple. That would seemingly mean Dolsi would be out, plus somebody else.

Hope that helps.

From what I've seen so far, I like Bautista and Bazardo. Dolsi was hitting 96 on the stadium gun today.

Todd Jones was tough to figure today. He fell behind on hitters, which is usually his kiss of death. Despite that, he induced two popups and shattered the bat of the final hitter, which tells me he must have busted a good cutter in there.

Bonderman's command was up and down.

I don't know if anyone in baseball hits as exciting a homerun as Gary Sheffield. That one today left a vapor trail, man.

Ordonez looks like he can hit .350 to .360 again. The way he goes to the opposite field is a joy to behold.

We got to see one of those Granderson triples. I agree that he no longer looks lost against lefties. He'll get it straight soon on that count.

Faces spotted today: Sweet Lou Whitaker, Dave Dombrowski and Rod Allen.

After today, it's unlikely I'll have internet access until I return home on Monday, so I probably won't be reporting on the Houston or New York games.
