Andrew Miller promoted to Erie

Dave Dombrowski was talking Tuesday about Miller being ready soon to go to Double-A Erie. Well, soon apparently meant now, because he was promoted tonight. He'll make his SeaWolves debut on Sunday at Akron.

Speaking of minor leaguers. Brent Clevlen is looking pretty brutal thus far in AAA.
He strikes out about 1.5 times a game, hitting around .200 and yet to bang a homer.

De la Cruz has been smokin' lately. I guess we will see him Vasquez and maybe Jurrjens when the roster expands. I think we will see Vasquez before then though.

Rough game tonight. Hopefull Ingie will be above the Mendoza line by the weekend. Monroe and casey have brought their averages up nicely. Casey a bit quietly. Sure wish he could get hold of a couple though.

Polanco is hitting the ball well but getting robbed much of the time. There has been some criticism of his bat in the WS but if you recall that't the way he was hitting then too. He actually hit the ball well in the Series but either got robbed or drilled the ball right at someone. Things are starting to even out a bit.

Rodney needs to get his act together to help the club out right now. We've dodged a lot of bullets (figuratively and almost literally) so far but Jones can't handle the ball every night. He kinda lucked out yesterday with 3 good plays from each of his outfielders.

I know we have a few Grilli fans here but I don't see this guy sticking. He is very inconsistent and can end up getting bashed around the park or walk the bases full all too easily. He seems to have good stuff but it ain't any good if you can't throw strikes or are afraid to.

Let's play a good one tomorrow!

It was a bit of an odd game to me last night. And it is funny on paper of all the three games that we were going to play against Seattle this was the no-brainer to me.

Robertson started out so tuff, it didn't look as anyone was really going to get many good hits off of him and then just like that it went south. On the other side it looked as though we were going to spank Baek and I believe that we only got 5 or so hits off of him. Very strange. Defense in the field was really good again, Inge made a couple of really nice plays.

I know that you cant win every game, but I really want to???? ha ha Seriously though with Boston and Minnesota coming up it is going to get a lot tuffer in the next week and to put a lot of these lesser teams in the bag I feel is really critical. The team will definatly get tested. So far there ability to win games against better teams has been less than half.

GO TIGERS, GO Verlander.

Now we hear that Bonderman may not be starting on Sunday. Better off to let him heal and toughen up his finger.

We need to get Sheffield going. I know he has shown some signes and even some production but he has left a lot of guys stranded and has not found a groove yet.

Good one today. I never tire of seeing Jeff Weaver get knocked around. The bullpen did a real fine job. If Rogers came back today, there's no way Bobby Seay would be the one sent down. He's done an excellent job.

Speaking of being sent down, I think the only "Grilli fan" that counts is Jim Leyland, and he is one. Personally, I thought Grilli stunk up the place Wednesday night. He's got stuff, but it's not getting him anywhere.

How about Rabelo today? If the kid was to never play another big league game, he's got today to keep. He had one coming. Good for him.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm stuck with Cubs-Phillies on Fox Saturday instead of the Tiger game. Not happy about that.

Good Gawdlemighty, look at that schedule coming out of the All-Star break! We should be allowed to expand to the 40-man roster for that!
