Tickets going, going ...
As of noon, the Tigers had sold almost as many single-game tickets in two hours of sales as they did in the first two days when they went on sale last spring. The total through two hours is 80,419. Online, tickets.com told the club they're experiencing traffic levels similar to when Cubs tickets go on sale.
Whew Jason, are you ever right. Finally, just now at 3:20pm after over five hours of trying, I scored four tickets for the Cleveland game, June 7th. Nosebleeds, but hey TCobb at least I'll be there to see us beat the hated Indians.
GO TIG's

I have a 27 game season package, however my family lives in mid-michigan and I promised my nieces and nephews that I would take them to a game for Christmas this year. I was on for about 2 hours and was able to score 9 tickets to the Rockies vs. Tigers game on the 29th for them. It was tough to get them but I am glad the kids will be happy.
Regarding Inge, he is hitting really well here in spring training. I don't know if anyone is listening to the game on the radio right now, but they were saying that he worked with the same batting coach that Vance did a few years ago and it worked out well for Vance, it seems to be doing Brandon a world of good as well. I know that I am in the minority, but I hope to god that Brandon sticks around. I think that he could be a very valuable piece in this run to the playoffs.
GO TIGERS.

Coach Gruden, just wanted to correct you on one thing. No way are you in the minority on wanting Brandon to stick around. I dare say the MAJORITY is with you even on this blog. Also, haven't I been reading in several places that BI is getting the biggest cheers of all in Lakeland. The Tiger Nation wants him to stay. Damm, I must be nuts, it PO's me that we let Cleveland tie us today. It's S/T for crying out loud. Chill out JT.

One interesting fact jumps out from the first few games. The Tigers had 13 hits for 3 runs, then today had 12 hits for 3 runs. None of that matters, of course, other than to point out how a team can put up good offensive numbers but fail to win games with them.
I just wanted to make everyone concerned. :-)

13 and 12 hits came on a mixed MLB and Minor league squad at different points of the game.
no concern there.
kids are taking their swings and having fun. spring training isn't about winning, its about preparation

You folks are lucky to be able to see them live. I live in Japan and have to wait until they play a team with a famous Japanese player to even see them on tv. I tried using MLB.com's video service a couple of years ago, only to find out after registering that it is blacked out in Japan.
I'm trying to find an academic conference in Michigan in October so I can have a reason to be there. I really want to see a playoff game, but not sure how things will play out. I'm more worried about my end than the Tigers', though.
Dan, if you are out there, I was only kidding with my comment a few days ago. I always enjoy your posts. I was only remembering how you get so frustrated with JL during the season.

Dan's always out there. Okay, I'm sorry, this must be open season on kidding Dan. :-) I must admit I was pretty frustrated with JL too during the latter part of the 2006 season.
Speaking of Neifi Perez (rim shot), I'm glad that this guy, who has gone into Tiger lore for negative reasons, did have his one shining moment during the Verlander no-hitter last June.
Deadhead, I think you missed my point, ol' buddy. I did say "none of that matters" because it's just spring training. I was just attempting to point out how a team, any team, can put up good offensive numbers but still not win games. Not getting the clutch hit, grounding into doubleplays, etc.

Steve, seems to me that most of the famous Japanese players are in the East and West divisions. You don't get much Tiger coverage then do you?

Hey everyone, I need some help. I was listending to the game but I had to travel to Lansing to pick someone up and in the ninth inning I lost the signal. I know that we had the bases loaded and a walk drove in a run. I was under the impression that there were no outs at the time (but know sure since the signal was weak at the time, but don't know why we didn't get anymore runs after that. If someone can explain please advise??
Not a very impressive hitting game for the Tigers. I know that it doesn't really matter much right now and I try to remember that, but I must admit I don't like losses no matter when they come??

Looks like it was a good weekend for the starters - always nice to see. With Willis and Rogers back in the mix this year, I think the starts are really going to gel and show us that 06' form again. As far as Cru and his Visa issues. I think JL has the right mindset with this one. It is time to forget about him and focus on the other arms fighting for a bullpen spot. No way he has a chance to make the club outta spring now, even IF he does finally get here and do well in spring training games - he'll be down in Toledo to start the season. Also, I am feeling alittle more optimistic with Rodney over the past few days. I have always liked him and I think if his shoulder can stay pain free this season, he will help us out alot. As I said before, comparing his fastball to his changeup - is some nasty stuff for hitters to time right.
I know this has been dealt with already and hasn't been mentioned in this string, but I still feel compelled to respond to the negative stuff. That is the first time I have seen it here and IMO the backlash was/is justified. As it was my 'rookie' year last season posting, I now feel like one of the vets along with GK, Rich, JT and Dan, along with some of the other non-regular posters. I think we all feel that this blog is special and along with Jason, want to keep it Top Shelf. Anyway, that is my 2-cents. Peace!
Go Tigers!
