Ramirez injured

Wilkin Ramirez just injured his left shoulder a minute ago diving for a line drive in left field. He was rolling on the ground in pain after he did it, and he was holding his left arm in place as head athletic trainer Kevin Rand walked with him off the field. I can't say whether it was a separation, but judging by his reaction, it definitely wasn't a minor injury.

UPDATE@3:45pm: The Tigers are calling Ramirez's injury a subluxed left shoulder, which is defined as a partial dislocation. He'll be re-evaluated, but he was walking around the clubhouse a little while ago without a wrap on his shoulder (he had been icing it for a while).

Jason, I am wathing the Cleveland game on TV and they are talking about how the outfield is really wet and a little dangerous because of some overnight rain. Is it the same there in Orlando??

I feel real bad for him he was showing a lot of ability. Hope that he will be okay?? Why was Kenny taken out.

Vasquez really hasn't been all that terrific this spring either.

GO TIGERS

Byrdak had a pretty good inning. Good to see as he was starting to show signs that his age was catching up to him. He is a southpaw and as such retains some value on that merit alonge in the bullpen. But he is not as good as Seay. If the Tigers had a chance to get a southpaw for Inge to work the back end of the bullpen I would think Byrdak's job security would be diminished.
All that being said, I like Byrdak.

I still think we will see a trade before the roster has to be settled.

Oh Yeah--I posted a link to some Brandon Inge talk I saw on mlb Trade Rumors:

The field actually looks pretty good today. I think the field here drains a lot better than the one in Winter Haven.

im liking how rodriguez is performing so far this spring. with his 2 homers already he's only 9 away from matching his homers from all last year... lol... i'm not there, or anywhere near lakeland, wrong coast, but has his approach changed? strikeouts and popups down? seems to me, whenever i was lucky enough to catch a game on espn or against the angels last year, he'd wiff some rediculous balls that my 10 year old son wouldn't swing at... but, i have limited time with tigers on TV so thats just what i observed.

that being said, i'm still deciding on whether or not to buy the directv mlb package this year. i have a feeling if i do i'll jinx the team and they'll repeat 03 LOL!!!

(yeah i bought the 'midway pack' from directv last year for football, and i'm sure all you detroit lions fans know what happened at the halfway point, oye...)

i digress, i'm rambling.

mike

meant to add this before i clicked post, and thought of it the second i released the mouse button off 'post'

its a contract year for rodriguez, expect good things from him...

Actually, I wrote a piece on Rodriguez based in part off of today's game and in part off of what Inge said the other day about the problems working on hitting and catching. You can find it on the site.

Hey Jason, hope you are well! You eating right and getting your rest?
Do you have time for a quick SHEFF ?

Since you are there and able to watch. Just wondering, does his swing look healthy? You know the "old SHEFF swing"? I could care about him being 0-11. But his violent swing and his ability to wait to get to balls on the outside is very distinctive. I would think you could tell if he has it back, because it was obvious he DIDN't after the injury last year. Thanks
