Tigers sign Rogers, Cruceta

You probably already know the Kenny part by now. It's a one-year deal. Here's the info on Cruceta, who has been impressive in winter ball. Chris Shelton and Timo Perez were designated for assignment.

Yeah Buddy! The Gambler is back where he should be. Good for Kenny and the Tigers!
Cruceta looks promising too. If he can keep his tests clean, he looks to be a good addition to the bullpen mix! Not bad, not bad at all.

Shelton and Timo-OUT!

We saw this coming for Timo. As for Shelton, I guess they assume Jeff Larish will be ready by the time Guillen retires.

I am happy about all this.

Go Tigers!

Kenny strengthens the rotation, at least theoretically but we must remember his 43 year old arm took a heap of abuse last year. His mound smarts chave always been able to make up for natural physical diminishments. I hope he can win us 15 games next year.

We still need a quality proven reliever. Hawkins is at best stop-gap and this approach is not worthy of management to pursue. They have improved the team thus far and this is not time to take 3rd tier ballplayers and hope for the best. We did get a dose of that last year with Jose Mesa.

Will this be the year that Miner or Grilli start to shine?
