Clevlen gets start

He'll be playing in CF and hitting against Santana, whom he has hit for a double and triple in seven at-bats. However, the other five at-bats were strikeouts. Granderson, 0-for-12 with six strikeouts against Santana for his career, gets the day off.

  1. Raburn, CF
  2. Polanco, 2B
  3. Sheffield, DH
  4. Ordonez, RF
  5. Guillen, SS
  6. Rodriguez, C
  7. Thames, 1B
  8. Inge, 3B
  9. Clevlen, CF

Who's playing left?

Nobody, but with Clevlan and Raburn both in center, they might be able to take turns. Heh heh.

Come on KC, come on Red Sox!

I'd prefer Santiago over Clevlen. Now prove me wrong, Brent.

Top of four now with the good guys ahead 4-1.
I think JL should be very quick with th hook and be willing to pitch by comittee if need be.

Bazardo is showing signs of faltering (too bad on that wild pitch--Pudge should have had that). Jl sometimes gets a burr in his saddle with having his starter get through 5 or 6 but if he gets thru 4 I would consider that successful.

Thames lucky in the field but unlucky at bat.

the offense needs to pick it up they are entering "oh well" zone here against Santana. He is as sharp right now than he ever has been and they need to get back on the board. He is getting in a groove and that will not be groovy for us.

Bazardo is done right now. They better take him out. He is on borrowed time.

Well JL is making the right move. We'll have to wait and see if it works but no doubt in my mind it is the right move--expecially after the 0-2 walk to Kubel.
mauer can hit anyone but I'd take my chances with seay here.

Hey Yorman did a nice enough job but this isn't June or July.

Well Sanatana is definitely in a groove.
We were very fortunate to get some off him in the first. Too often the offense shuts down after scoring a bunch in early innings.

Seay has his work cut out for him as these twins will gnash and gnaw us all night long.

Zach looked pretty good out there. I hope this means Rapada sits down in the bullpen. Tiger fans should storm the dugout if Leyland has the temerity to put "Rapada Inn".

Zach has to dispatch the bottom of the lineup here this inning. This could be the key inning for us tonight.
Punto, for whatever reason, seems to hit us pretty decently. Gotta get him.

I was afraid of this. Punto hurts us. Miner lost composure with Bartlett. Now what?

You could smell the need for PFP as soon as Miner caught that ball.
These guys have to buckle down and do something good right now or this game gets away from us and an opportunity to gain on the Yankees. I know there are a lot of other folks swearing now just like I am.

Why No Timo for Clevlen?

Why do WE know this stuff and Leyland doesn't seem to?

I mean the club's hottest hitter on the bench for a RHB weak hitting guy who **** .220 and struck out a ton in the minors?

Stupid.

Let's hope Jones can get #298

Whew!

Okay, I was with all that stuff. Dan, you're turning into Chris Berman. Clay (Pigeon) Rapada? Rapada Inn?

I thought you could tell me why Perez didn't hit for Clevlen. That was......well, dumb.

That game had all the earmarks of another one of those frustrating Dome losses, but this is a different time. We've certainly done our part. It's Cleveland that's ruining it for everybody.

We got a game on New York, but after tomorrow, they won't have it so tough. It could take most all of the next two weeks to make up the other three games on them, and this would be a final weekend type deal.

I was interested in seeing how Bazardo did tonight, as I'm trying to get a handle on what kind of starters we may have next season. Tomorrow's start by Jurrjens is the same thing.

Bobby Seay, who is a favorite of mine for some reason, did another real good job tonight.

The bottom line, it's good to see that our guys can still play some ball. They had me worried there for awhile.
