Raburn apparently called up

He told reporters after the game in Toledo tonight that he's being called up to the Tigers. Not sure what the other end of the move is quite yet, though it would seemingly have to involve an outfielder. Marcus Thames started Thursday for the Tigers at first base and left after four innings, though there was no apparent injury. Raburn is not on the 40-man roster, so he would have to have his contract purchased.

Well this is interesting, but I like the move. This kid has been tearing it up in Toledo and can do a lot of things. In addition to the HR's,BA,rbi,OBP,SlgPct, BB, and SB's he can probably play 5-6 positions and has a lot of outfield assists. If an OF has to go it shouldn't be Thames. The guy hits too many important HR's. I know its unthinkable, but the guy not contributing right now is Monroe. If not him, do we really need Perez? With Raburn's versatility to play all three OF spots, Infante can concentrate on the IF. I don't think they send down a pitcher. So, its Monroe or Perez.

I don't think that Thames deserves to go away, I am not sure they would have the guts to send Monroe down even though unfortunately he is the one that is scuffling bad right now. I really don't think that they would send Infante. The interesting thing is Perez. I think what people forget is that he has a pretty good glove in the field, he saved the no-hitter for Justin, I am not sure that is a play that Carlos would of made. You wonder if someone like Thames or Infante is involved in some sort of deal????
