He's out 25 games for testing positive for a banned stimulant, which is the category that covers substances such as amphetamines or "greenies". Raburn has been called up to take his place.
Is this the second time he tested positive? I thought with stimulants you have to test positive twice before any suspension is given (IE- Barry Bonds postive testing last season).
Under the stimulants rule, your first positive test doesn't draw a suspension. The team isn't even notified of it. The second one draws the 25-game suspension.
Well, you have to stay awake somehow when you're on the bench that much of the time...
Looking forward to this series. As a lonely Tiger fan up here in Red Sox Nation, I'm hoping to gain some bragging rights. The pitching matchups look pretty good, although Nate will need to bring his "A" game on Sunday against Matsuzaka.

I won't even try to hide the emotions. I'm glad he got suspended and I hope he's done as a Tiger. It was a mistake to acquire Perez, a mistake to keep him to start the season, and a mistake every time he batted with Omar on the bench. Neifi was very capable in the field, but absolutely useless at the plate. Giving Raburn a shot was the right move. I wanted that two months ago. I guess that Raburn is now second on the depth chart in CF and RF. Omar is now the primary IF backup, with Raburn there for emergencies to play 2B or 3B in a pinch, but if **** were needed and Omar was already in the game, Inge goes to SS and Raburn goes to 3B. Neifi needs to be gone for good.
