Magglio scratched

UPDATED: He was originally in the lineup today, but after visiting with the trainers and talking with the manager, he was crossed out with minor stiffness in his left knee. He's available to pinch-hit and probably could've played if needed. Marcus Thames, back from the birth of his second child Saturday, gets into the lineup in RF.

Also, it's looking like Rogers' next rehab start will probably come at West Michigan this weekend. The Whitecaps are at home, while Toledo and Erie are on the road.

Congratulations to Marcus and Danna. Go out and hit a couple to celebrate

I am surprised they aren't DH-ing Marcus today though and let Sheff get in some playing time in RF.

Let's hope nothing is too terribly wrong with Ordonez. The (injury) beat goes on.

Congratulations to Marcus and his wife.

I didn't realize that Marcus was gone but was unsure why he hadn't been put in the line-up lately, but my thinking was for Monroe. Monroe to me lately has almost been an automatic out.

We definately cannot afford to lose Magglio, to me that would spell disaster. The guy is on fire and is keeping this offense moving. This is freaking me out. Please someone let me know that it is going to be okay.

I figured JL might have been giving Magglio the day off before an off day that he likes to do. Maybe the 2 days off will be all he needs. I don't like Guillen grabbing his hamstring. Hopefully it will be nothing bad.

I am sure Monroe will get some days off when we play in the NL parks. I am sure all the outfielders will get a day or 2 off then. My guess is we will see Monroe in CF against a lefty as well with Sheffield in LF. Of course, we have to keep our guys healthy until then.

Nice at bat by Pudge on the triple.

Miller threw pretty well. Byrdak very impressive once again. Grilli---well, let's just say I am not a Grilli Guy.
Rodney is in now and is intent on making an adventure of our bullpen. Can't stand the way he consistently plunks batters. He has created quite a mess so hopefully he can pull out of this.

One thing is an "almost" certainty--when the Tigers score in double figures they USUALLY win!

Scary.

In a lineup without Ordonez and, for the most part, Guillen, the Tigers get 15 runs on 21 hits off arguably the best pitching staff in the National League. Who was the idiot earlier this season who said this lineup was overrated? If you guessed it was me, you'd be correct. :-)

That suicide squeeze was a thing of beauty. I see Monroe breaking out. I see Inge going to rightfield. I see Casey driving in two runs with a well timed hit.

Miller pitched a good, gutty game against a very good team. He got that shutdown inning too, after the Tigers took the lead. It won't be long for him, I wouldn't think.

Jason Grilli, I'm afraid, is just not going to cut it. No one expects perfection, and we realize pitchers can have bad outings, but his are total implosions. A guy can struggle and still get a couple outs, but not in his case, it seems. How do you bring in a guy that you can't trust to get any outs?

Byrdak obviously should continue to get work, he's done great. I'm not seeing Bobby Seay much anymore, what's up with that? Rodney was, again, Rodney. That's all I'm going to say anymore.

We were a large Friday night stikezone from sweeping this series. Meanwhile, Cleveland loses 2 of 3 to the last place Reds, and can't score in 12 innings today. Like I said the other day, the best team in the AL Central played the best team in the NL East.
