How to fill the DH spot

For this night, it's going to be Pudge, who's leading off against lefty Odalis Perez. Mike Rabelo will catch Mike Maroth for the second time this season. Infante starts in center field for Granderson, while Gary Sheffield is out of town for his grandfather's funeral.

Jim Leyland isn't sure yet whether DHing tonight will be enough rest for Pudge or if he'll sit him completely tomorrow afternoon. He plans to sleep on that decision. He's sure he'll rest Polanco on Sunday to give him back-to-back days off with the off-day Monday.

Oh, and hopefully nobody bought tickets for that anticipated matchup of Nate Robertson and Felix Heranandez. The Mariners are now pushing Hernandez back until May 15. He'll still pitch in Detroit, but it'll be a simulated game on Tuesday afternoon.

"Considering the length of the layoff, this is the right thing to do," manager Mike Hargrove told reporters. "Not just with Felix, but anybody who has had that long of a layoff."
