Trade

Just when I tell folks there are no trades just before spring training, the Tigers make a trade. They've acquired right-hander Yorman Bazardo from the Mariners in exchange for outfield prospect Jeff Frazier. Bazardo has a strong winter pitching relief in Venezuela. Preston Larrison was designated for assignment to make room for Bazardo on the 40-man roster.
