For those who haven't heard, Dmitri Young will report to Double-A Erie for a two-game rehab assignment. He's expected to play one game at DH, the other at 1B. Assuming all goes well, he'll then rejoin the team in Minnesota.
I am glad Dmitri is going on the rehab. I think it will benefit him. I would not be surprised if he gets a start at 1B with the Tigers this weekend to give Shelton a days rest. I think with Young being hurt is one of the reasons Leyland has not given Shelton a day off yet. He has played every inning except the one Guillen played at first so far. Who else do the Tigers actually have to start at first besides Shelton until Young gets back? We will also see the end of Gomez for awhile.
Jason, the season is now exactly 1/6 complete. Projecting out, would give us 108 wins. Probably not going to happen, but do you think 90 is realistic? What player has surprised you the most so far this season on the team? For me, it would be Maroth. I felt he would be consistent but not at this level.
