About Beck

Jason is in his seventh season covering the Tigers for MLB.com (yes, he covered the 119-loss season of '03). Before that, he edited and wrote on baseball for CBS SportsLine and the old MajorLeagueBaseball.com. A 1996 graduate of Xavier University in Cincinnati, he spent his high school years within a stone's throw of the Toledo Mud Hens when they played in Maumee, Ohio. A native of western Pennsylvania, he avoids the misery of football season in Detroit by remaining a Steelers fan. He's also an avid runner who has completed two marathons and tries to find time to log in miles on the road during the season.
