Wednesday’s lineups: Tigers at Twins

Ian Kinsler and Victor Martinez both are out for a second consecutive game. Kinsler needs a symptom-free day per concussion protocol, so his symptoms yesterday ruled him out. He said today he’s feeling encouraged, but still has to go through baseball activity before he can be cleared for tomorrow. Martinez apparently was feeling improvement in his right knee, but isn’t quite ready yet.

“He said he’s better,” manager Brad Ausmus said, “but from his description, he could use another day.”

Though Ausmus said Tuesday that Steven Moya could see time at DH if Martinez remains out, Justin Upton gets a day out of the field, with Tyler Collins starting in left.

Bunting? are you kidding?

Gave away an out and took the bat off the hands of the best hitter .
Upton keeping the inning alive.

Better get someone warming in BP. Hardy warming up.

Bases loaded and………………………nothing. Now Farmer appears to be out of his field.

Wow! The Buck stopped that.

Are we going back to squander mode?
Two non-productive ABs with man on 3rd and 1 out already.
Berrios looks like he’s got pretty good stuff.

Tough challenge for Buck tonight even if the Twins are one of the worst. It could be worse—–Anybody here remember Alfredo Figaro?

I recall the name just not the association…kinda reminds me of the menu at Olive Garden though…must be hungry.

Game 161. 2009.JL refused to pitch JV with 3 days of rest

never forget!

Game to be made up when?
JD and Mauer are probably secretly happy with the postponement.
Farmer has potential/

Tomorrow, DH

Hey… Great news! HR Sanchez STARTS the day game. Actually, this might turn out okay

more useless stats…last time Tigers played doubleheader was Sept 21 of last year, swept by Chisox. In 2010, they played 6 DHs, were swept 3 times, split 3 times. the last time TIgers won a DH was July 24, 2009 vs Chisox. The Tiger starters that day were Verlander and Eddie Bonine.

as expected:
Gm. 1 lineup at MIN: Maybin 8, Iglesias 6, Cabrera DH, J. Martinez 9, Upton 7, McCann 2, Jones 5, Salty 3, Romine 4. Sanchez starts.
Saltalamacchia will be in the battery with Verlander again. The best game of the season for Verlander was with him.
JV was yelling at McCann during their last game. He worn out his patience

He wasn’t much different than Salty in the Cleveland game. Salty must have given him 600 signs that night

Looks like Salty is playing 1st (at least your post indicates that) not catching.

JV will pitch the second game. Since McCann is catching the first game, Saltalamacchia will catch the second .
