Tuesday’s lineups: Tigers at White Sox

Ian Kinsler remains out of the lineup after injuring his right ring finger Sunday. He can pinch-run, but most likely won’t start until at least Friday against the Orioles, manager Brad Ausmus told reporters in Chicago.

I agree with those who say V-Mart needs a rest. He is not quick to the ball.

I think for a pitcher to get run support adds to his confidence to make the batters hitters. Go Tigers

🔎looking for Tiger’s hitters!!! Anybody🔍

6.01.It is interference by a batter or a runner when:
5)any batter or runner who has just been put out, or any
runner who has just scored, hinders or impedes any following
play being made on a runner. Such runner shall
be declared out for the interference of his teammate..

10)He fails to avoid a fielder who is attempting to field a batted
ball, or INTENTIONALLY interferes with a thrown ball,

1st guessing…would never havery replaced Romine for jacoby. Jacoby has looked very very jumpy since the first 2 games

Guess we’re not that interested tonight.

0-6 risp
7 lob

Maybin 3
Iglesias 2
Cabrera 0
Vmart 0
Jmart 2
Upton 3
Jacoby 3
Salty 0
Romine 0

Cleveland lost don’t blow opportunity to gain ground boys

Might be nice to have a Moya off the bench here instead of Aybar…..since Aybar can hardly get ball out of the infield …

….all the numbers say righties hit him better ..so we pinch hit a lefty

Very disappointing tonight. No energy and when they did have runners on they crapped it up. And Brad made poor pinch hitting decisions. Boyd showed up but he’s the only one.
Victor needs a rest….they won’t win tomorrow anyway….not that he’s contributing in any way at all.

I did not like that decision to pinch hit for Romine. That was a spot for an experienced big league player if there ever was one and it was a walk waiting to happen. Brad is a piece of work sometimes.

Just curious…it appears that just before Martinez(Victor )walking up to the plate, he seems to be listening…
to someone or something from inside his batting helmet….it certainly seems that
way…anyone?.He does need a rest of sorts….bad call by Asmus, pinch hitting for Romine.
Romine makes things happen….I guess he(Ausmus) was looking for a miracle to occur.
How about prayer?

All are correct in pointing out Brad’s use of Jones over Romine; not only do you remove the more experienced batter, you could have in a Romine situation, have tried a squeeze with Julio on third; I mean we needed a run to get it going; granted it would have been the second out, but the option would have been there. I would have also pinch hit Collins for Maybin, who in no way could have a good AB against Matt Jones, unless he worked a walk.(Injured Thumb Syndrome) Basically, it wasn’t in the cards tonight; too many early opportunities down the drain. A win would have been huge. Also agree with GK about tomorrow’s game. We have been puzzled by Quintana on many an occasion; I’m hoping that we get him early, but not holding my breath. The likelihood of the Tribe losing again tomorrow is slim at best. But her I am playing games on paper and not on the diamond:
1. Still raving about “Iggyfense”. He is one cool dude at the 6.
2. Boyd gives us a solid 7 and a chance to win.
3. Farmer shows quality stuff, but command and control are duds.
No kudos. VMart is showing us how tired he is, by his inflated K’s. He used to go 9-10 games at a time with no strikeouts; now he whifs two and three times a game. Realistically, he’s also crippled and 37 years old. Definitely needs tomorrow and the off day to be ready for the O’s. Lineup really misses Ian.

Jones for Romine was the worst call of the game and occurred at the most critical moment. What was Brad thinking? If I’m Andrew I have to be wondering what I have to do to gain the confidence and respect of my manager. And they were saying Brad absolutely loves Andrew? Mind boggling…..It was not only stupid but it was disrespectful.

Brad told Trevor he pinch hit to have a RH hitter against a LH pitcher. So Romine is no longer a switch hitter? I wasn’t going to comment any further on it until I heard that explanation. And yes I know the splits.

No one has even mentioned that Moya has 5 times the ability to hit a desperate home-run than Collins.

what’s jim leyland doing these days?😉

Jim is around, but I did read that McClendon is coming up from Toledo.

I shut it off when he put Jones in there. What a perfect spot for Romine and I was looking forward to it and then Brad switches up.
Boyd was very good, however.
