Sunday’s lineups: Tigers vs. Angels

Same lineup as Saturday for Tigers against Angels lefty Tyler Skaggs. The Tigers haven’t heard anything from Major League Baseball about Saturday’s ejections, and likely won’t until Monday, so Victor Martinez — who would seem likely to face a fine or suspension after throwing his helmet onto the field from the dugout — remains in the lineup.

Did not listen to the game but what did Dan and Jim have to say? Sounds to me like there was some emotion on the team. We need some fire.

Somehow they just HAVE to find a way to beat this bloody team.
It starts with having good at bats against mediocre pitching.

6-13 vs Halos under Ausmus
34-52 since 2006

This season they have already lost 4 of 5 vs the Angels, right? So far today the only thing they have accomplished is to run up Skaggs’ pitch count.

Tigers have won 2 of 5 vs Angels this year….very bad against a crap team with crap pitching. And I agree their AB’s are as pathetic as yesterday.

Wow Cy Skaggs just way too much for these little Tigers. Lead off double squandered

After my comment about running up Skaggs’ pitch count, the Tigers make 3 outs on 4 pitches in the 3rd. The Angel pitchers have high ERAs but the Tigers bats have gone quiet again after 4 games of scoring 10, 8, 9, and 8 runs.

The Way these bums for the tigers are hitting that two run homer could be way too much for the tigers to overcome the way the tiger’s are hitting against these AWEFUL pitchers the last few days

Marte a former Tiger? (groan)

And here’s were this game gets out of hand….pitiful

And now they let both of them advance on the sac fly. Awesome….TIGER’S DO YOU SEE WHAT A SAC FLY LOOKS LIKE?

I’ve been on my share of roller coasters but this Tigers’ coaster has been the most frustrating. Four games with 8+ runs scored gives you the idea maybe they will make a run at it. Then they can’t score runs at all for several games. Nauseating.
The Tigers, not the roller coasters.

They don’t have what it takes to be a true contender……….their lineup can’t hit the most miserable pitchers in the league let alone what you’d face against good teams in the playoffs.

2 hits……2 measly hits through 6.

Another 5+ era guy I’m sure the tiger’s will continue their inept hitting approach

To me, the disturbing thing is Sanchez reverting to form. For several games this August, it looked like he had turned the corner. Instead, Sanchez finished the month with 18 ER in 37.2 IP.

Cy Morin…..5 era 0 hits
Cy Oblerholtzer …5.16 era 3 hits 1 run
Cy Chacin …5.42 3 hits era 0 runs
Cy Ramirez 4.9 era 1 unearned run
Cy Salas 4.56 era 0 hits no runs
Cy Skaggs 5.7 era 2 hits 0 runs

We’ll add Cy Valdez to the list

3 hits and 3 walks.

Kyle auditioning for ZZ Top as a backup plan.

Not sure what the answer is with this club. You can’t win games without runs crossing the plate. Offense needs a kick in the a–. Had hoped they could win this series.

That’s a lot a Cys. And all on the same team. What are the odds?

I’ll throw my 2 cents in as well….they all too anxious swinging at crap and letting
good pitches go…McCann is a very frustrating batter to watch….its’ as if someone
is going to photograph his follow-thru….they are not going to make it as long as
starters are questionable and hitting not consistant…good club, but no show.

Quite sijply: They’re done.
If you can’t win a series at HOME, with a winning streak under your belt against mediocre pitching and a losing team at this time in the season.
Well, like I said They’re done.
And the hitting going in the tank at the frequency it does even with the calibre of hitters we have?? Doesn’t make sense.

Just finished the replay; Can’t best a team 20 games under .500, and at home. What a major letdown.Cleveland keeps begging us to overtake them, but we say, No, Thanks. The W Sox won’t roll over and play dead either. If you don’t have an ulcer watching this team, you must have an iron stomach:
1. Miggy
2. Pen Again.
3. Miggy Defense.
No kudos. Anabal nor the Tigers can beat the Angels. Most worthless AB’s I’ve seen all year. It wouldn’t have mattered but Casey made the last out on a no brainer ball four. Maybe James could have yanked one. I’m really not picking on Casey, but again you have 1 RBI in his 20+ games. Nobody hit tonight except Miggy basically, so it didn’t matter. Oh well, tomorrow’s another day.

Correct NJ. When they are going bad, almost to the hitter, they watch perfectly hittable middle of the plate strikes go by and then swing at balls nowhere near the strike zone. In the dirt, over their heads, matters not. It’s uncanny. It’s like they’ve already made up their minds before the pitch is thrown. A lot like that. I was done watching after 6 innings. Coincidentally so were the Tigers.

The Tigers should have easily handled the Angels this series.

Meanwhile: Bastiat “Ballgame. Almonte’s flyout to center seals a 2-1 win for Texas, who takes 3 of 4 from Tribe. CLE scored 1 or 0 runs in 6 of 7 games on trip.” You are not that far when the leader is slow
Last 10:
Cleveland 2-8
Tigers 6-4
CWS 6-4
Beware of KC, they are not done: 8-2 and destroyed Boston
They cant beat LAA. It has been that way since that game

Cleveland 4-6. KC 8-2. I have some problems with the blog since late July. It stalls with my browser and don’t allow me to type properly ( Safari)

Call -up prediction? Hicks ,Hardy, Farmer ,Moya , Machado.

This is a “SAD” team! What they need a kick in the “ASS”. What they need is a Billy Martin?
