Wednesday’s lineups: Tigers at Twins

Ian Kinsler gets a day off amidst a 1-for-29 slump over the last eight days, dropping his batting average from .290 to .275, and a 1-for-9 history against Twins starter Tyler Duffey. Andrew Romine gets the start at second base. Cameron Maybin, who moved from second to ninth in the batting order Tuesday to help monitor his swings and ease the pain on his sprained left thumb, will bat leadoff tonight after a stellar performance Tuesday.

Kinsler isn’t the only star player getting the night off. Joe Mauer is out of the lineup while riding a 1-for-16 skid. He’s batting .235 against left-handed pitching this season, 54 points below his career mark off southpaws. He’s also 0-for-5 in two career games against Tigers starter Matt Boyd.

Boyd looking pretty crappy …

Justin remaining hot.

In the entire month of August, Upton has ONLY 15 hits, 3 HRs and 9 RBIs. Of those numbers, 8 of his hits, All of his HRs and All of his RBIs have been produced in the last 4 games. Upton seems to have transformed himself from a SUBMARINE into a CARRIER. If he can keep this up, the Tigers will be a force to be reckoned with.

What should of been called a swinging strike to Dozier turned into a homer on next pitch….thanks ump

Boyd has started to come on as well. This makes his third consecutive QS. He too is giving the Tigers a chance to win, leaving the outcome to the BP.

I really wish tiger’s would put a tack on run ie 2 I don’t trust this completely

Bruce trying to make it exciting…

Upton trying to help him with his Brick Glove.

So far so good. We win; Tribe loses to Oakland. Boyd does his job despite a shaky start. Starting pitchers have really stepped up lately. Great move to let Ian clear his mind and aches. Miggy’s going to get to that career average yet. Upton hits another bomb;we need three weeks of this to get everybody back for the final push. Dilemma in waiting; Iggy comes back; somebody has to go. Zimmerman comes back; Roster expansion in play for the remainder.
1. Cam keeps the energy going.
2. Thanks Mr. Romine for 2 big ad ons.
3. Loved the Rondon finish in the 9th.
Kudos to Miggy, Julio, Justin, Cam, and Andrew. Boyd was strong from the 4th. inning on. The guys know what’s at stake; they really seem to be working as a solid team again. Need that broom job tomorrow Moonbeam.

Nice to see the offense keep getting key hits. Lets hope JUP can continue smashing it out. Nice win !!!
