Friday’s lineups: Tigers at White Sox

Tyler Collins returns to the Tigers starting lineup for the first time since last Sunday. He’s over the neck issues that flared up a couple days ago. Jarrod Saltalamacchia, meanwhile, returns behind the plate to catch Michael Fulmer. The White Sox have two lefties going in the remaining two games of this series with Chris Sale and Jose Quintana, but it’ll be interesting to see if Brad Ausmus has James McCann do the quick turnaround from night game to day game, given the hot weather.

Lord….first inning already annoyed by the umpire…..Upton was walked

Geez….first inning already annoyed by the umpire…..Upton was walked

I can see this game live here. Upton only saw one pitch in the strike zone and may have struck out on the worst pitch of all. When is this guy going to get with it?

He might not ever figure it out . Lets hope the Tigers can keep the lead they were given .

Fulmer not so good tonight…

Here we go again. 2 men on and no outs. Can the Tigers score?

Tigers win ChiSox are mired in mediocrity. Rangers are chasing Sale.

When the dust settled, we learned tonight that Michael Fulmer is human after all. And he still only gave up 6 hits. The Morneau ghost of the past haunted us once again. The Strike zone was horrible and inconsistent tonight, making things frustrating for both sides. Still think Jacob has upside if a good pitching coast guided him to success, and the last two games welcomes the return of Super Miggy:
1. Mig gets 4 hits and that 1500th. RBI. Pretty remarkable at age 33.
2. Both Kinsler and Nick have extended AB’s to drive up Turner’s pitch count; both made good contributions toward the win.
3. The Bulls really stood tall; 4 innings, 2 hits, 1 walk. Doesn’t gt much better than that.
Kudos: Miggy, Ian, Nick, Cam, and said Pen.
Have the split; get ready for two leftys; need 1 for the series.

Jeff Nelson is, IMO, the worst ball/strike umpire in the game. He never fails to tick me off.
One good 3-run homer would make these games so much easier.
If they do get 3 of 4 in Chicago, it effectively makes up for the Twins series.

More Chris Sale drama. They can keep him.

Castellanos made a mess out of this inning. Hrs cost the tigers 2 runs

Yes he did bet he is feeling bad now.

Go home Sale. Keep house with Rondon and Gose. So, let the trades begin.

Sale sent home because he cut up all the jerseys they were suppose to wear tonight. REALLY grow up do your job and stop acting like a petculen child. Your an employee do your job and do what the hell you are told to do. UNBELIEVABLE

Sale wants out . Some teams will take him regardless. Others will consider him a poor clubhouse guy. Throwback uni cutups? Send Sale to the Rangers. They have no history.

V-Mart ripped that ball with the bases drunk. Just bad luck.

Miggy struck out typical and not bad luck

Good thing he didn’t send Iglesias home because Miggy struck out and Victor hit it hard but come on despite 1 game they’ve both been aweful at driving in runs lately. Ugh

Castellanos turning into Victor and Cabrera an easy out

Castellanos turning into Victor and Cabrera an easy out
.
Nice homer Upton!

Here comes the tarp. Again.

Pretty sure we’re done for tonight. Suspended game coming up. They can finish tomorrow or in September, I guess.
I was real impressed with the way Matt Boyd came back after the first 90-minute delay. He pitched a good game.

You would have thought they got a break when Sale was pulled, but no.

That’s what we thought . No Sale helps them to the W . Things just can’t be that easy can they ??

Nick has his worst game of the year.
1. Upton.
2. Maybin
3. Pen Pitching.
One up side for Nick was the game tying RBI single against Jones. He’s a tough cookie, and his error really hurt the Sox.

Well…….Quick I guess
Nick had a bad game
Umpire had a bad day….
Too bad nobody decided to cover 2nd Garcia would of been out by a mile. Didn’t look very interested tiger’s left 8 runners on 2 for 9 with runners in scoring position cabrera and VMart stranded 8 together
