Friday’s lineups: Tigers vs. White Sox

Day off for Nick Castellanos after an 0-for-4, four-strikeout game Thursday night. Mike Aviles gets his second consecutive start after going 2-for-4 with a double. Aviles also has more at-bats against Carlos Rodon than anyone else on the Tigers roster (granted, it’s still just seven at-bats). With Castellanos sitting, J.D. Martinez moves back to the fifth spot in the batting order behind Victor Martinez, allowing Cameron Maybin to hit second.

On the White Sox side, Alex Avila gets the start behind the plate in his return to Comerica Park.

WHite soxs don’t waste their opportunity to score runs…..

Here comes the BP

“Opponents have a .360 BA against Alex Wilson w/ RISP. He inherits guys at 1st & 3rd.”

a gift from the ump

Is true that Miguel has a knee problem? Compensating for it could have caused the back problem?

It is a win that is much needed after last night . Go Tigers !!

Had to have this win with Sale going tomorrow and Quintana on Sunday. Regardless of what all the sabermetrics say, It was a good night for McCann, and old washed-up Victor still carries a pretty mean stick. And as I have stated(my opinion), our MVP is Kinsler. Add that with some timely hits from everyone else and you end up with 10 runs. As poory as we have played for one third of the season, we are four games out.
I accept the win with no reservations or buts.
1. Another decent start for our rotation.
2. The Kinsler aggressive base running to get to third on Cam’s infield hit.
3. The pen does an okay job.
Kudos to Julio, JMac, Ian, Victor, Julio for D, and the A Wilson K of Rollins in the 6th.
A nice feel good win for our Tigers. That’s my view tonight; no what ifs needed.

At this point going forward, these divisional series have to be won. It’s about the only way to make up for these first two months. We got some good performances tonight.
.
I have a vision of 30,000 people in Comerica tomorrow and they’re all holding up binoculars.

Just the second time scoring 10 runs in a game this season.

And they matched their largest runs margin this season with 7

Both of those stats are somewhat surprising. Wherefore art thou, Justin Upton?

I braced myself for a roller coaster ride with Upton, not a trip to hell.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Aviles is getting mucho reps. Romine has become the forgotten man.
I still say Upton is far more valuable to us if he were to be traded.
