Sunday’s lineups: Tigers vs. Nationals, at Braves

The Tigers split up their squads fairly evenly for this one, given how close the road tilt is. I wouldn’t read too much into James McCann batting second, other than trying to get him an extra at-bat without him having to catch too deep into the game in his first work behind the plate in about a week.

  7. Andrew Romine, 2B
  8. John Mayberry Jr., 1B

VMart could not be ready for Opening day…

Well, I’ve never heard of a “mild” hamstring strain. Seems that Victor’s injuries are always downplayed.

The Tigers have significantly more depth than last year. They will need it to remain in contention. I am hopeful, and with some confidence that they will be able to “keep it together” throughout the season, unlike last year. I was against the trade deadline sell last season, but am so thankful at this point that it occurred.

McCosky”Verlander gets Harper to ground out into the shift, but nobody covered third — runner from first went to third.” Seriously? the shift with runners on and less than two outs?
