Tuesday’s lineups: Tigers vs. Rays

Fox Sports Detroit has their first Tigers telecast of the spring today (they picked up last week’s Tigers-Yankees broadcast from YES Network), so enjoy the sights of Joker Marchant Stadium and the voices of Mario Impemba, Dan Dickerson and Kirk Gibson. The game is also on MLB.TV for those living outside of the Detroit market. Radio call is on AM 1270 and MLB Gameday Audio.

Not surprisingly, the lineup for the TV has a good number of regulars in it. Three exceptions are in center field, where Anthony Gose has a day off following the road trip to Port St. Lucie yesterday, at catcher, where Bryan Holaday gets the start, and third base, where Nick Castellanos has the day off as he deals with a sore back. Castellanos said this morning it’s nothing serious, and he should be back tomorrow or Thursday. Best guess is that the bus rides this spring aggravated it; Castellanos has made nearly every road trip this spring. Mike Aviles gets the start at third.

Ditto!!

I’m at the game right now.

Upton sure has been off. Not sure what his history is in the spring but he seems to be swinging at a lot of high strikes.

Rich—glad to see you were able to watch a good game. You had to love the late-inning pitching. Exciting to see Jiminez and Rondon.
Ausmus must be very “relieved” at the state of the bullpen. He will be made to look a lot smarter this year with his management of the tail end of ball games.

The poor man´s Shark or the younger /older Porcello
Greene: career FIP:4.54 K/9 7.13 Just 5.4 in 2015 0.90 GB/FB
Pelfrey 4.21 FIP 5.01 SO/9 0.95 GB/FB… 1.08 in 2015
Porcello 4.13 FIP 5.8 SO/9 1.08 GB/FB

Upton will be a roller coaster ride. He will be red hot and then ice cold. But, In the end, he will have an 800 OPS.
