Tuesday’s lineups: Tigers at Rangers

Victor Martinez is out of the lineup after leaving last night’s game with a sore left quad. Miguel Cabrera gets a start at DH. Cabrera is likely to get Wednesday’s series finale off, then play one or two games this weekend against the White Sox. But with an 8-for-11 history off Cole Hamels, including 2-for-3 in August, he’ll take the opportunity to try to add to his AL batting lead.

6 runs of support. Porcello gives back 4, 25th HR allowed.1 inning

What was a happy start turns ….and error and a tying 2 run homer. Ugh

Sqeezed a bit here but Norris has to do better

Going downhill quickly. Can he stop it?

Are you f’ing kidding me apparently the 1st and 2nd baseman aren’t interested in doing the most routine of things. Bums

Absolutely disgusted. ….
I’ve been a lot of that this year.

This is the crap that makes me mad about Ausmus what the hell you doing leaving him in there with 54 pitches? Game who cares what about his future. Not worth risking for a team that is crap

That 1st inning was tuff to watch. It had to be tuffer on Norris to throw 54 pitches.

Should we wait to see who will pitch in the next inning or should I get out my Keystone Kops videos now?

Great AB Marte after a disaster of an error and after your pitchers throws 54 excellent 3 pitch AB

LOL. Those Kops are so funny. Oh, wait! The Tigers now have more runs than errors? Wow! That “ace” Hamels may not be. Ah, but Keystone Davis adds a bit of base-running comedy.

Ausmule took out the wrong pitcher? His name is Norris, not Castellanos, BA.

Can someone else besides Marte play tonight…..he’s absolutely aweful

Any bets on how many TDs the Texas Cowboys will score tonight?

Marte is a 3B

Who still should be able to catch a routine popup no matter where he is ouhn the field right?

and the guy at third base should have tagged Fielder

Havens:”Daniel Norris logged 71 pitches in 1 2/3 IP. That is tied for the 2nd-most by any pitcher in less than 2 IP in the last 10 seasons”

and Brad will defend it.

I am a lot more worried about Boyd than I am Norris. Norris got away with nothing. Boyd has been getting away with being up. I think he has some real potential but he does need to realize he will not get away with pitching like that in the bigs.
Probably a good lesson for Norris tonight.
The club has been a bit weird at the end here. Winning some games, scoring some runs yet the defense has been very suspect.

Sorry JD shoulda caught that ….team isn’t interested in playing the field tonight ….lazy play…

Norris ,career: 1.4 HR/9 3.3 BB/9 6.9 SO/9. His BB are down with the Tigers but HR up.

And add another misplay . The comedy of errors up after the decided to keep him

Dan, I agree with you on Norris. He seems like Price in many ways, but without his experience and command.

MARTE AGAIN…..SERIOUSLY IS THERE ANYONE ELSE PLAY

Passan:

Daniel Norris is coming back out for the second. That the Tigers’ front office didn’t tell Brad Ausmus to pull him immediately is brutal

Holaday. ..homer/double/strikeout
Miguel. ..walk/strikeout/weak groundout

Where is Miguel?

Add another quick ab with a weak groundout

This is a Miggy imposter I think. I wonder if the coaching staff is working with him.

Well 3er to Cole Hamels 6er…….tiger’s blew it tonight. And really JD shoulda caught that fly ball and would be 6-2. Nothing like beating yourself. I suppose that’s what crap teams do.

Romine. ..Mr dependable joining the disgrace on the field

Well ………..fitting end to a disgraceful night

Must be nice to have professionals in the field

Best part of the TV coverage was watching the Al Kaline interview .
( with Mickey York) Wonder what Al really thinks of this mess ….

How often does anyone see Rajai Davis bunt? You see him get key hits…This manager is terrible knowing his hitters…Anthony Gose has been doing his best and it shows…pitch hitting Avila for anybody these days is a terrible mistake…Michado
is a good one,..all in all, another loss by our illustrious manager…He should have started managing in the minor leagues first. I’m just not a forgiving person regarding
Brad Ausmus..Jeff Jones looks like a very tired pitching coach…the way he mopes his way to the mound..(sigh)

1. The Gose AB in the second and stolen base, both off of Hamels.
2. The Pen did okay; kept us in the game right through the 9th.
3. The Gose peg from center keeps the game at -1 for the Tigers.
Kudos to Julio, Doc, and Verhagen. Drew looks like a keeper for next year. If Al could be consistent on command and control, he might be salvageable. Don’t see anything wrong with the arm; just not sure he’s worth another look. Miggy must be playing on a really bum calf, because his AB’s are like hitting fielding practice for the team. Daniel certainly deserved better from our defense, but he still didn’t have a feel for the ball tonight. Still think he’s a winner in the making.

I am concerned about the collective abilities of our LH in the bullpen. Granted Hardy has had two decent years and he may be worn out but he has not looked real good to me the last few weeks. Krol is still underwhelming and under confident. Gorzo gets paid way too much money to keep him on as a 5+ ERA candidate. Ryan cannot overpower hitters any more than Lobstein. This is an area next year that can’t be overlooked.
Not looking a whole lot better on the right side either, come to think of it. Though Verhagen looks promising to be sure and Wilson is a pro. I have always like AlAl but he has taken his talent about as far as he could.

JD uncharacteristically missed the ball by Beltre. That should have been ruled an error IMO.
As to JD if he hits #39 soon why not bat him 2nd the rest of the way?
Miggy looks all tuckered out.
Let’s see what Moya can do–boy can he ever swing that bat!

Missed the last two inning but read the wrap. What the heck was Rajai doing bunting with man on 3rd and 1 out?
