Wednesday’s lineups: Tigers vs. Rays

Victor Martinez is apparently feeling better, but he’s going to get one more day out of the lineup. He’ll be available off the bench. Miguel Cabrera gets a day at DH, with Jefry Marte starting at first base. Rajai Davis is out of the lineup after three home runs over the first two games of the series. Tyler Collins starts in left.

No Rajai? Is he worn out from everything he did last night? Is someone jealous about all the attention Rajai got? Is BA having a brain fart?

It’s obvious, Ausmus is not playing to win…it’s just now he’s trying to keep everyone
happy by giving everyone as much playing time possible…when a player is hitting well, wouldn’t you want him to continue his hot spell???Winning with Ausmus is
not everything….personally, I wouldn’t want him back as manager…

Well I suppose we have to be grateful Tigers won’t a series. ..it would be way too much to expect to sweep one. Baby steps.

FOUR comments?!? That ’bout says it all.

I’m becoming ill watching Cespedes single-handedly winning the division for the Mets.

I mean, Fulmer is going to have to be Clayton Kershaw to make this trade good.

Oakland was the only team willing to take a chance and gave him, what? 30 million or so for 4 years. The Tigers could have gotten him then, but they missed the boat. He’s a beast in NY.
.
I watched the game on and off. At the end, there had to be about 50 to 100 people in the stands. Moya makes his debut and can’t make the catch, but follows up with a catch and throw to 2nd base. The season can’t end soon enough for me. But, then the winter and waiting.

My wife thinks I am crazy to keep watching this mess unfold . Sure looks like attendance is way down. Looks like they just gave up. Wonder what Leyland is thinking ??

The highlight; the Lobster Pickoff. As I said last week, 72 wins would be a stretch.
1. Valdez keeps the ball in the park.
2. 2 double plays.
3. Gose gets 2 hits.
Now, Isn’t that special?

I remember predicting 75 wins about a month ago so now…………hell, I haven’t even looked at standings in a week. I have no idea where Detroit stands W-L. I have to go look it up.

The disappointing season just gets worse as we see the empty seats. Even that hurts. It has been years since I was looking forward to the season ending. 2008 can’t hold a candle to all that has been brutal about this year.
