Just having Miggy IN the lineup, regardless of results, gives this team a huge boost in watch-ability.

Just got called in to work. Go Tigers!!!!!!!!!!!

You are right about Miggy. Just as long as he dosen’t do too much and stays healthy

Regarding Miguel’s weight, I responded to Dan on previous thread. I feel strongly about this.

Okay already ticked off at the strike zone there were a few pitches in the correa/gattisat bats that were strikes and let’s not even get into the checked swing. That pitch to Avila was so far up and out and called a strike major bull

Yes, Gk or Rich, if you want to accept the Gameday strike zone, there have been several good pitches from Boyd that he did not get and now the 3rd strike on Kinsler was out of the zone. Advantage so far 3-1 in favor of the Astros.

But needless to add, Boyd is not pitching well today.

3rd inning for the tiger’s is exactly why Tigers are a miserable team. 1st two guys walk next three squander it.

And Boud puts one right on a tee for Rasmus again. We squander they hit.

Aren’t LHP’s supposed to be hard on LHB’s?

Not if they use a Tigers uniform. They are hardest on RHB

Ugh

Tigers haven’t hit a homer in a week.

5th inning ….tiger’s look like they are throwing in the towel. Typical.

Jd batting. 136 through last 7 games.

Well that’s a crappy call on iglesias. ..Guess we know who’s side that ump is on. Obviously the ump knew he screwed up otherwise kinsler and maybe Iglesias would of been thrown out.

Guess Kinsler was ejected. ….

he was

new game

A chance to take the lead now. Lets go !!

When was the last time Avila had a hit? Do I have to go to the attic and dig out my high school history book? Is he blind? Is he dizzy from too many concussions? He is just absolutely worthless.

We were just talking about Avila at the plate . My guess is he stays a Tiger for next year. It is hard to watch .

Although I Will say umpire has helped that out quite a lot

He hasn’t done been playing. 11 strike outs for tigers hitters today.

Avila and Marte have 7 of them

Gorzelanny? really?

AlAl…….love the guy! He has frustrated me with walks in the past. But he just gets it done in the long run.

Aumus calling on Gorzo….this takes balls! I hope it’s good results.

Didn’t look good but worked out

well….Almost…

As we say here,to swim that much , to drown at the shore

This is on Brad. With the walk off run at third you walk Altuve

Wilson 39% IR. You never use him with runners on. Not in the 9th for sure

Whatever. …….same results different day. If you expect them to lose your not disappointed.

Put me on the fire Brad bandwagon. And I think they will do it, but perhaps not until the season is over. Who do you folks like as a replacement. For me, anyone with some emotion, who would have the common sense not to pitch to Altuve.

My niece is 11 years old . She is a huge fan and yelled ” Brad walk him .”
The rest is history for the 2015 Tigers . Nothing will change with Lamont at the helm.

It was for the most part a pitiful performance by Detroit hitters. They acted like they were in a hurry to get to those nice restaurants in Chicago. Any patience at all would have resulted in a series win.
Ausmus? I’d fire him right now. There’s a day off to make the switch. I see no reason to continue on like this. He managed like a man who was trying to lose the game. The players themselves were only slightly better.

Totally agree…..I thought the same thing about chicago earlier in the game.

This cast of characters will never win with Brad
The experiment failed
Clean house Al
Turn it over to Lamont for the next month and a half
Due diligence over the winter

What was Brad thinking pitching to Altuve ? I just wonder what if any input the coaching staff has . Today was not one of the Tigers better games . But yet they had a chance to win it and blew it .

Hearing Brad was let go would be music to my ears. Maybe Avila should not have spoke so soon regarding Brad staying around this season.
Can you imagine what the Tigers were saying inside their heads when Brad let Altuve be pitched to?
Is that 11 year old available to take over as manager?

The team that loses ugly a lot; that’s the 2015 Detroit Tigers. A lot of of wins are ugly too. The lineup of Kinsler, Cabrera, Martinez, and Martinez; should literally run like a well oiled machine. Just not the case this year. Another series that should have been won. Agree with GK again, the plate calling was a disgrace; it’s got to be fixed somehow. However, I don’t think plate calling was that much of a reason for Marte’s 4 AB disaster today; he really looked bad, worse here than any other AB’s I’ve seen. Still see Boyd as a MLB starter. Will take some time to work through the rough spots, assuming we find a decent pitching coach to tutor him.
1. Miggy is probably the only batter in baseball who could miss 33 games, take no rehab AB’s, and hit an opposite field homer his third game back. If for no other reason, he’s worth seeing Tiger games.
2. Al Al is finding a groove that speaks well for us if Brad uses him when he should.
3. We had mega opportunities to score before the homer, but couldn’t get the one big hit.
As always it’s one too many pitches or batters faced, or whatver the situation. Take what you get from Gorzo, and move away quickly. Preston Tucker is not going to hit a homer in every AB. End the game there with Wilson or whomever, and you don’t even worry about Altuve. That’s the way good pens should work.

Never seen so many swings at balls at eye level. (Marte and JD). I’m just chalking this season up to one of those years where it’s not meant to be like 2008.
