Saturday’s lineups: Tigers at Orioles

If you believe the rumors that the Tigers wanted Kevin Gausman from the Orioles in any deal involving Yoenis Cespedes, then it’s time to find out who won the non-trade.

P: Kevin Gausman

The first winter meetings I covered, I remember chasing down a Matt Clement rumor. Man, I feel old.

Disaster Tigers all day..AUSMUS GO HOME PLEASE…want again playoff lol

And one so obtuse so as to leave off James McCann:

What’s the word for this? I expected problems from Simon and Farmer but they held the Orioles scoreless while the Tigers scored runs. Now I expect Anibal to hold the Orioles scoreless but they nail him for 2 runs right off.

What happened to JD?

He fouled a ball off his left knee. It hurt him.

The Tigers need an ace and a solid top of the rotation starter. JV and Sanchez fit somewhere in the middle of the mix. The 5th starter could surface from the youngsers. The rest of the kids will probablyl provide depth and fill BP slots. The BP is nonetheless still short a closer and setup man. I like Wilson but don’t have great expectations for him. Another OFer is a must. I hope Moya will be ready, but doubt it. This could happen in 2016 if DD’s magic wand still works.

Feeble offense and Sanchez off tonight makes for a long night and another LOSS!

After 9 runs and 7 runs, it looks like a drop-off tonight. Gassman is fueled.

He would have been a nice return for Cespedes. Too bad DD couldn’t get it done.

Well finally get a hit and Victor promptly does nothing to contribute. …same old same old. Marte or Romine would be more likely to contribute at this time.

5-0…..I’m out.

HR Derby Sanchez is at it again.. He’s now tied for third in giving them up. The guy is killing himself and his team.

Should read tied for second.

Caleb Joseph? Is he a rookie? His stats are better than Avila and McCann put together. Whatever. Goodnight, Gk, wherever you are.

I’ve stated here before, VMart needs a DL visit before Miggy gets back. Just get healthy for the stretch run wherever that takes you, a WC or the basement! This year is now a write-off and anything positive form here on is well, unexpected!

It looks like he definitely needs a rest. I can’t see any evidence of health issues, unlike when he previously went on the DL. However, V-Mart’s cut definitely looks a tad off. Hopefully his mechanics just need a little tweaking.

Victor should be given tomorrow off. It can’t hurt him…….or the team for that matter.

Agree and maybe a visit from the team physician, Something is wrong with Victor.

I love the fire in some of these bellys. BAs comments indicate something deeper than doubt. JV has a surprise for all the haters, and folks with short memories. As does Victor. What was left of the last team DD GMed when he left? And what kind of talent did he set himself up with before his departure?

Same here, the Tigers have an Ace, his name is Justin Verlander.

Just got back from Camden. Another disappointing night. They couldn’t hit the kid. VMart needs a blow. You see the agony in his AB’s right now. I really thought Julio had broken something; from my view, it hit his knee square on. When he left, Tigerland knew there was no chance. Collins looked very uncomfortable. When Nick learns to take the outside pitch to right center, he could hit 20 plus a year. We saw both sides of Anabal. Unfortunately, there was more bad than good. This is probably my last trip to Camden; their fans like to party at the park; I come to watch baseball.
Someone needs to redesign seating for those who want to see the game and a separate section for those who get up 7 times during the game when a Tiger player is batting. The Giants police their stands and expect no movement except during half innings or emergencies. Get ready for the old Tennessee boy tomorrow.
1. The O’s didn’t score on our pen.
2. The Casty swing for his Homer.
3. Alex only stuck out twice.

Norris tommorow. I don’t expect much from him at this early point in his career. His MiLB and MLB stats reflect a pitcher who gives up lots of walks and hits for a pretty high WHIP and ERA. I’ve never seen him pitch, but have to assume he’s got some stuff given the credentials of his trade partner.

His scouting report is very decent. He is young and still developing.

After the last sale under DD, the Marlins failed to reach 500 for 4 years.
He is credited for building the core of the 2003 Marlins but the important players were traded for or signed as FA after he left: IRod, Willis, Urbina ( the closer), Encarnación ( he was traded by DD but from the Tigers to Marlins for Young)
The players he got needed up to 5 or 6 years to be good
Of course, he signed Miguel Cabrera. But every team was after him. Al Avila was able to win the trust of Cabrera´s uncle and mother and he left money on the table from the Dodgers
He will go to the HoF but still he will be the GM that traded Randy Johnson, Johan Santana ( DD took him in the rule 5 draft to trade him for Jared Camp picked by the Twins under an agreement ) and David Price

He also traded away Trevor Hoffman. Once , he got it right with the BP. He was a rookie, no need to include him in the fire sale

Norris:”In the beginning of the season when I was in Toronto, I was going through dead arm and I was like 88-90. I’ve felt pretty good.”

Lineup en BAL: Gose 8, Iglesias 6, Kinsler 4, V. Martinez DH, J. Martinez 9, McCann 2, Castellanos 5, Avila 3, Davis 7. Norris comienza.

Danny Valnecia 3B /OF/1B better option thna Krauss on waivers. He is worth a look. Under control for two years.

“The one surprise was Soria, as relievers of this ilk are hard to come by and the Tigers have a history of being unable to identify them. They finally did with Soria and yet they traded him.”

Thank god JD showed up…couldn’t agree more. DD doesn’t have a clue as to how to put a pen together.

Thank god JD showed up…

Genuinely no matter if someone doesn’t know then its up
to other users that they will help, so here it happens.

Aw, this was an incredibly nice post. Finding the time and actual effort to generate
a very good article… but what can I say… I hesitate a whole lot and don’t manage to get nearly anything
