Friday’s lineups: Tigers vs. Orioles

As expected, Alex Avila gets the start at first base with Marc Krauss (who’s actually 3-for-6 lifetime against Ubaldo Jimenez) on paternity leave. Unlike previous starts, though, Avila is batting sixth behind Nick Castellanos. James McCann starts at catcher.

Put Rommine at 3rd already. Either teach Gose how to hit from both sides of the plate or trade him. Trade Nick-Gose-Alex-Yo-Greene-Al- Nelfi.

And keep Simon?

JD is really some kind of player. He’s not only a power hitter but has become tremendous in RF. That catch was terrific!

Uneasy feeling here. Anibal pitch count too high. Too many runners allowed. Jimenez seems to be settling down.

They need a 3B, A real one.

It’s depressing.

this inning had to be over

“I can get you four outs, but I can’t get you five.”

Gameday still stuck on Parmelee at bat but from your comments it doesn’t sound good.

Quick and easy outs for tiger’s and the orioles making Anibal throw a crap ton of pitches. Not a good feeling here.

Dan & Jim just said Tom Gage is the official scorer.

Iggy!!!

Wow! It wasn’t as bad as I feared and now Iggy unloads one.

Iggy flexing some muscle

Castellanos is two months younger than Manny Machado

LOL. I was just thinking they didn’t need help from JD cause Iggy and Victor homered.

Remember when they were going to interview Barry Larkin for the manager’s position? He backed out of it, but I wonder what kind of manager he’d make.

Good players , usually ,are bad mangers in the current environment. Ryno was destined to fail.

They love hitting balls down the 3rd base line don’t they?

I’d like hitting down 3rd base line also if there was a guy like Nick all the time

Think Romine would have caught that ball that just went over Avila’s glove. I just don’t get it.

Avila jumped pretty well I think miggy might of got it others too short.

Lots of good things happening in the game tonight.

Hardy is by far, the best option with runners on

Soria is struggling.

I wonder if he’s hurt.

too many pitches.

Terrific game, but the ending was difficult to watch. You hope Soria comes out after that last mess he had and have a 1,2,3 inning, but it wasn’t.

Hope so. Great defense tonight and no dumb base running mistakes.

The final three innings were stressful only because of the bullpen’s history. The O’s got one run on an error. We may get past this feeling in a month or so?
I definitely have someone tagged for a trade and you don’t have to guess who it is.
Alex was okay at first other than not being tall enough on a couple of plays.
Tigers defense: the old saying about a chain being only as strong as its weakest link.
Fingers painfully crossed for Feliz. Did we steal one?

After that game JD had tonight, he should be on the All Star team. What? He was?

Nice win the Tigers stilll have a long way to go. But it is positive .

Al was a bit shaky, not sure how Ausmus holds his composure and doesn’t bring the hook when a guy walks the lead-off batter in the 9th. But, I like Avila at 1st. Keeps his leadership available and close at hand. Missed the boys badly during the AS break, and what a nice game to watch! Sanchez fought through not having his best stuff and the team responded well. Hardy, Feliz, were awesome. “Iggy lookin’ like Miggy! Even got himself a little stutter step going around third…” Rod Allen…JD looking better and better, Victor hitting the ball hard from the left side, Gose with a timely double, smart steal, etc, etc, etc, Sleepin’ well in the big North woods tonight, secure in the knowledge that things went well in Tiger town Tonight!

what d’ya know:
Iggy made the big Offensive play tonite; JD made the big Defensive one.

chuckle, it’s usually the other way around!!🙂

If Soria walks the first batter he faces, usually a long night. 29 pitches basically rule him out Saturday. Anabal struggled all evening, but had enough to hold the O’s at bay.
1. Love those two out RBI’s.
2. Getting a first inning lead on Jimenez.
3. Great production from 8-9.
Kudos to Igloo for the big stick, to VMart for the continuing improvement, and to Julio for letting us witness a magical season for him.Kudos also to Blaine and Neftali, who could very well be the MLB bargain of the year. And don’t you love David Price as a teammate?

Price greeted Sanchez so warmly I thought they’d have to get a room. He’s like a 25th man when it comes to being a teammate.

Hardy 3 for 26 IR%

12%

Hardy appears to have the demeanor and the stuff. He can do what they tried to have Coke do. Tough on lefties, gets out the righties.
