Saturday’s lineups: Tigers at White Sox

Same lineup as last night for another White Sox lefty. This time, it’s John Danks, who pitched the usual 10-hit shutout last Sunday at Houston. Aside from Ian Kinsler (who’s just 8-for-61 with three RBIs over his last 16 games, according to MLB Network research), there aren’t a lot of great numbers for Tigers hitters against Danks, though Josh Wilson does have a double and a sacrifice fly off him.

The White Sox mix things up near the bottom of the lineup. Emilio Bonifacio gets the start in left, while Geovany Soto and his awkward throwing motion starts behind the plate.

Reminder: Tonight is a FOX Network broadcast, not Fox Sports Detroit. Check your local listings to find out which channel that is.

Cespedes numbers are his second best in his short career.
The Tigers got what they wanted. His power has been absent the last two weeks but he is making contact as usual for him

KC now 30-23, having lost 9 of 11. At .500 since their 7-0 start.
All of these divisions are totally up for grabs.
Memo to Casey Stengel: Nobody here knows how to play this game.

I’m glad I didn’t watch last night’s late innings. Soria is not pitching enough to be effective without the save opportunities and Wilson has been effective until last night.
They gotta break out of this funk soon or later.

If I remember right, Leyland’s approach was to not let his closer go more than three days without pitching. Soria went five days without pitching before facing Oakland last Tuesday. Other than that, I think he went more than three days only once.

Lineup…….doesn’t matter. Price will probably give up 1 and we’ll score none. That’s just how it’s going. More interested in the horse race and watching paint dry. Until these overindulged underperforming so called baseball players start doing their job it doesn’t matter.

Don’t sugarcoat it, Gk. Give it to us straight. 🙂

I never do. These guys are compensated and guaranteed their $$$ no matter what. Miguel Cabrera has 4 rbi in last ten guess what so do Castellanos and Collins

Triple crown winner American Pharaoh. Now that’s exciting. Pretty damn cool.

He had no rival .After I heard 2/4 in 48, I said , race over.He was on its hands.

Iott:
Miguel bats after:”Anthony Gose was batting .357 on May 15, but his average has dropped to .296. Gose is 15 for 72 (.208) since May 15 and 2 for 27 (.074) in his past seven games.
Ian Kinsler has been mired in a slump for some time. He went 5 for 8 in the final two games of the Cardinals series, but he is hitting .141 (9 for 64) with just one multi-hit game in 17 games since May 17″

Boys coming through driving Davis home from 2nd ….oh wait they didn’t. Most impressive was Miguel grounding out weakly to 1st.

This is why Victor was signed. No other player in this team can handle the pressure of batting after Miguel

Quite a play for Jose…dude is such a hot dog. Love watching him

1 run seems insurmountable these days.

It’s about time!

Thanks Miggy it’s about time!

2 runs is not enough.

5 runs seems like 10

They need a lead-off hitter. Neither Gose nor Davis are up to the task

High 5 for the Tigers.🙂

Anyone notice that Miggy has been sitting by himself on the bench?

Rondon had a bad inning. Is he ready? I don’t know?

it is not about the numbers. It is about health and how he looked

I read he didn’t look good

185 . 5 for last 27. The lead-off hitter

Wow! Nice play Josh! John Smoltz is a pleasure to listen to.

Feel like I’m in Tiger heaven this evening.

Hello from Charleston
1 Price is just right what the Tigers needed.
2 Josh says, I’m breathing on your neck Nicky.
3 Finally a crooked number.
Goodbye from Charleston.

Fabulous night for the new guy, Wilson. He’s not much of a hitter, aside from tonight, but he played 3rd base tonight like a pro. What an arm.

Tigers played well and Price sure looked like the old Price . Gotta keep it up boys.

I was pleasantly surprised that MLB Extra Innings now carries both Fox national games. No more blackouts?
I really wish the Tigers would bring in that CF fence at Comerica. Cabrera can swing away and hit ’em out to center on the road. I think it changes his entire approach.
Anyway, the losing streak is over. Now win the finale to take the series and proceed in a normal fashion.
After all this, only four games out.

If Price wants Scherzer’s contract and the Tigers can’t sign him, they should get 2 extra draft picks.
.
Josh Wilson is hot right now so will Ausmule bench him Sunday because a RHP starts for the WSox? Samargarine.

One draft pick under the new rules. After the first round

Price made it very clear that for him, it’s the culture over $$$$$. Just like Smoltz said last night he would never go to a team that won’t let him play golf. He was offered more money from other teams but opted for the culture.
