Thursday’s lineups: Tigers at Angels

Jose Iglesias returns to the Tigers lineup after missing the last four games with a bruised left knee. The fact that the Tigers sent Dixon Machado to Toledo to make room for Buck Farmer suggests some level of confidence that Iglesias is fine, because Machado now can’t be recalled for 10 days unless there’s a DL move involved.

Yes Jose!

They need Ryan until Simon is back and there was no way to add a reliever for today but they will be short in the BP with Farmer starting.
Is Soria avialble?

Personally, I like the look of tonight’s lineup. Farmer will be interesting to watch. He has good stuff. We’ll see if this year he is closer to being ready to contribute.

Maybe the Angels will be stymied by a pitcher they have never seen before. It happens with the Tigers all the time. The key will be if the Tiger bats are awake.

I believe that as soon as Miggy’s bat wakes up…the rest of the bats will follow….

Cespedes should be 4th (cleanup) for the rest of the year. He’s a 100 RBI Guy, so with Cabrera 3rd, and VMart 5th JD 6th. That’s going to be a very potent “batting order” for the middle of the lineup.

No matter how good tiger’s are playing Anaheim always seem to stymie them
.

Schmehl:
How’s the shape of your bullpen tonight? “It’s pretty good,” Ausmus said. “We should be fine. As long as we don’t play a bunch of innings.”

didnt waste anytime groundinginto that double play . .??????

Consistent Miggy is gonna lose some bat avg this series
Will be interesting to see if McCann bounces back and how Gose manages himself against the lefty

Welcome back to MLB

Oh Yoenis you had a shot at that one had you gone hard

Horrible pitch to Albert

On pace for 175 DP

Could set a record. They won’t diminish when VMart comes back either.

The record is 174. Boston. 1990 StL 169. 2011

Wrong place of the park for NC

He must remain there to save the BP but he is pitching BP

Looks like I might get a good night sleep after all. Farmer we’ll isn’t impressive

Game over before it starts

Jeff Jones will wear a path from the dugout to the mound if this keeps up,

“Miggy’s bat wakes up?” Just when will that happen? A team cannot rely on one player. The others should be picking up the pace, not waiting for one player to start hitting.

Anybody who watches Tiger games knows that Matt Joyce swings at the first pitch
especially, loves Tiger pitching….no warning from the manager or coaches….sad.

That information is given to them early in the morning. Pitcher and catcher are supposed to plan the game

If you can’t hit the ball to score a runner, let the ball hit you for an RBI.

7 batters over 30 pitches and 1 run scores because of a hit batter. Not what you’d hope for.

He righted the ship

Why can’t this team hit the ball?

4 innings. The trip to the mound was magical

Tiger’s let Wilson off the hook yet again and Cespedes didn’t field that ball very well.

As Beck mentioned, he knows the park well

like your new twitter pix jason!

Terrible strike zone.

Tigers are so Anemic. ….I just don’t get it.

Can’t hit when they need to.

Like I’ve said meaninglessness artificial batting averages. NOBODY on this team can get the big hit NOBODY.

Farmer did the job, Take him out

CJ Wilson stole 2 hits from the Tigers with his fielding. Buck Farmer couldn’t handle it. A good fielding pitcher is like having an extra player on the infield.

Yes, he gave that out

5-1 nighty night.
.
Our stellar offense it isn’t going to happen.

Who cares?
Seriously.
W-H-O?
Very apathetic at bats
Called 3rd strikes, weak ground balls, endless double plays, can’t bunt, can’t hit & run, missing signs.
I have had enough and I am 3 hours behind most of you fans

And now, Nick gives another

The inning should be over

The Tigers have hit some balls on the button but getting nothing to show for it.
Welcome to Anaheim, where the Tigers have lost 9 of 10 and are 16-43 there since 2001. Don’t even think about winning here. Don’t even watch. I hope to win one game this weekend.

Nick C. is earning the title of butcher at 3rdbase. Really bad.

Disgraceful baseball. The worst hitting team in the AL just score its 12th. run, and it’s not over, but I am done. Two hits after seven. Nothing but disgraceful.
1. Kinsler sees 21 pitches in 2 AB’s.
2. The Angels won’t get 20 runs.
3. Rod’s not blowgassing a lot tonight.
As I said, DISGRACEFUL!

Not much one can say. Anaheim. It’s just one of those strange things. I’ve been doing alternate activities since the Pujols homer.

The Tigers usually get enough hits and surprisingly enough walks. The failure to score more runs is from hitting into too many doubleplays and not hitting enough homeruns. 17 homers in their last 27 games. That won’t do.
