Friday’s lineups: Tigers vs. Indians

Alex Avila bats ahead of Nick Castellanos in the order for the second straight game, which is the order we all expected coming out of Spring Training before Brad Ausmus flipped them for Opening Day. It breaks up the string of right-handed batters, Ausmus said, but it’s something he wasn’t doing for the first 2 1/2 weeks.

“I think Alex has shown that he’s swung the bat a little better,” Ausmus said, “so I feel like there’s less risk involved now.”

Other than that, it’s the standard lineup against right-handers, and a lineup of mixed results against Danny Salazar. J.D. Martinez has yet to make contact against Salazar in seven plate appearances (one walk, six strikeouts), while Miguel Cabrera is 5-for-13 with six strikeouts.

Hopefully they decide it’s important to play tonight

Heyman:
Multiple teams have worked out free agent closer Rafael Soriano, but the Tigers remain the most logical fit, especially following the torn UCL injury for closer Joe Nathan. Joakim Soria is doing a nice job, but Soriano is on their radar…

Shane Green, the rookie, having to pitch under pressure. Good luck, Shane and Go Tigers!!!

Galarraga will try to revive his career in Mexico

Another poor hitting team having their way. Tigers might want to get it going.

In the middle, predictable after a walk. He was waiting that pitch

Nothing like wasting a bases loaded 1 out opportunity.

Guess tigerso aren’t going to pitch or hit tonight.

Still early. They need some mojo.

Early bUT they’ve played like crap lately. And the pitchera they’ve faced weren’t as good.
Batting averages of Indians hitters.

200….220…250….216…184…222….200…207….174.

..
Greene isn’t getting out bad hitters so far tonight.

The pitchers included CC, Tanaka, Sale, Burnett ,Samarditzja , Cole and Liriano

And Warren and Evaldi…….Smardja hasn’t been good neither has CC. You’d think occasionally they’d be able to hit someone. Excuses.

They won most of those games

No they barely beat Sabathia and Smardja lost to Warren and Evaldi. They are not hitting anyone good or medium or bad. And now their not pitching either.

10 runs in 5 games this week…..sheeesh…..where are their Wheaties?

i haven’t seen CLE play this caliber of defense in a long time

It was fair,another mental error

Nick hammered his HR. Then follows it up wih a brain camp and the Indians score as a result. Another on-the-job training mistake.

Can’t hit…..can’t pitch not a good recipe.

Bruce Jenner interview on 20/20 might be more entertaining.

The bats are really going to have to wake up or this will be 4 losses in a row.

Maybe, but he had a 1.91 ERA with the Red Sox in 18 games last season.

Career IR%: 60. Extremely bad and more telling than ERA for a reliever

Yep the most important out for him to get was moss and he gives up a 3 run homer.

I’ve done that too. the ball is just gone foul you reach down to get it and it suddenly fair. Tough play.
JD looked uninterested in the Santana line drive.
Miggy and Kinsler have both cooled off lately and that really hurts.
Dombowski should actually have his job reviewed based soley on his handling of the bullpen the last several years. And, yes, I am serious about that.
Tigers have given up on this game. Not a very pleasant attribute for a major league team.

The defense has been absent the whole week

Kinsler is around his career avg but his SLG is way down

It could be worse: Porcello 6.12 ERA 6 HR allowed

When it rains, it…
Al2 is injured or lost it

“Velocity down this year for Al Alburquerque, who isn’t fooling anyone lately. Two-run home run for Lonnie Chisenhall”

OMG, just turn out the lights at Comerica. Embarrassing.

They started off hot last year and then went into a funk. Is that what we are seeing?

A losing stretch is one thing it happens..what bothers me is their playing like losing overpaid way underperforming chumps. And that starts at the top with the “big fellas” it’s completely unacceptable. Was going to head to the park this weekend. …couldn’t pay me to go right now. Waste of time and money.

13-1was time to PR for Iglesias

embarrassing.

Nothing from 3-4; nothing from the starter; nothing from the pen; three things to like-
nothing.
1. Kinsler on base 4 times.
