Kinsler scratched from lineup with sore left shoulder

The list of Tigers with nagging injuries expanded again on Friday, when second baseman Ian Kinsler was scratched from their lineup against the Braves with left shoulder soreness.

Kinsler is listed as day-to-day, as are outfielder Yoenis Cespedes (left quad tightness) and catcher Alex Avila (lower back soreness). Shortstop Jose Iglesias just returned from a bruised right shin that left him day-to-day as well.

Kinsler had no reported injuries previously. He has played in six games this spring, batting 5-for-15 with two doubles, a triple, a home run and five RBIs while adding three walks. He played three at-bats against the Astros on Thursday.

Josh Wilson replaced Kinsler in Friday’s starting lineup, while Anthony Gose moved to the leadoff spot.

how many tigers have been hit at the plate this spring? HOLY COW!!

Shane Greene is looking like the real deal out there! Joba is looking good too!

Joba is looking real good so far . Saw Phil Coke in Mesa yesterday he appeared to have control and was hitting his spots .

Phil Coke > Joe Nathan ?

I would think Kinsler’s RIGHT shoulder would be sore. That’s the one he keeps dropping………

Fell asleep. But, before that Dan and Jim were speculating on who might go north. Perez, McCan and probably Collins. Just their speculation, though.

That is more or less the consensus. Both Romine and Perez are out of options but Perez wont clear waivers.
They need the LHB and everybody seem to want Moya at Toledo.

Whoever the infielder ends up being they need someone who can switch roles whether it be 3rd base, SS and/or 2nd base.

Both can play all them with solvency

It seems McCann will end with the most of the playing time

I love Romine’s knowledge of the game and his near flawless work in the field but yeah, if it comes down to it, he’s more likely to clear waivers. Hernan then.
I’ve been highly impressed with McCann.

Pérez has rookie eligibility.

i dunno. it still seems to me that the 13th guy should be an infielder rather than an outfielder.

the four outfielders all seem pretty strong. cespedes, davis, gose, and JD. (unless cespedes starts to be injury prone, then ignore this comment). i just dont see an urgent need for a 5th outfielder.

just seems like the 13th guy should be more infield trained. (and both romine & perez can play outfield if a 5th guy is needed). meanwhile miggy and iggy are still on the mend, and will need days off. (and victor is only playing 1st if HE needs/wants some time playing defense.)
