Saturday’s lineup: Tigers at Braves

Yoenis Cespedes returns to the lineup after missing Thursday’s game with back tightness. He was already scheduled to miss Friday. Jose Iglesias is feeling fine after leaving Friday’s game with a bruised shin, but he was never on the travel roster for Saturday after the long trip. Alex Avila is back after spending the last few days on paternity leave.

Interesting to see Josh Wilson getting the start at shortstop. Not sure how much to read into that other than the fact that Andrew Romine and Hernan Perez were both in the infield yesterday in Port St. Lucie, and Nick Castellanos has pretty much played all week. Steven Moya is on the travel roster, so he’ll get his chance off the bench. Among the pitchers going today is Joe Nathan.

The Braves have a split-squad set going today, so their lineup has some unfamiliar names in it. That said, Justin Verlander will get to face Freddie Freeman, Jonny Gomes and A.J. Pierzynski.

Wilson huh? Anyhow I look forward to JV, Nathan pitching.

Nice group of relievers, at least in the sense of satisfying some curiousity.

Boesch signed a minor league deal with the Reds—wonder what ever happened to Ryan Strieby?

nice lineup today
