Saturday’s lineups: Tigers at Royals

For a noon local time game after a night game, there’s very little resting of players, another sign of how much this series means. The one change in the lineup is the one Brad Ausmus said he’d do beforehand, swapping out James McCann with Bryan Holaday behind the plate.

Today’s game is on FOX national, not Fox Sports Detroit. It’s also on FM only in Detroit, no AM 1270, for what that’s worth.

Ridiculous story there. What happened after?

Take care!

Bad Max or good Max?

Got out of that 1st inning.

good maxx!

Appreciated that bunt. Thanks, Aoki.

Tigers bats don’t look quite the same. Sheilds is tough!

Argh! But got out of another jam

Thanks for the bunt again, Aoki. Is Yost calling this garbage? Just giving away outs.

1 too many jams for Max to get himself out of.

Im sorry Shields is getting pitches cslled strikes that Max is not……Figures.

For instance 3rd pitch to kinsler in 6th strike to him….not to willngham previous inning.

Max has them on 2nd and 3rd again and 1 out. Another jam for Max.

Swuarez.

Didn’t touch the base.

still tied.

Weird. ….

Beck:
Officially announcement was an error on Suarez, who was late getting over, even though it was Kinsler’s wayward throw.

After last night, this game is so boring. Let’s go Tigers!!!!

You think this is boring???

Last night, ESPN spent half of the game with Wakamatsu´s calligraphy

Pretty terrible at bat by Kinsler, in an important spot in and important game. That plus his decision to throw that ball, has me wondering.

Maybe it just looks boring since I keep leaving the room to do things.

Your team gets you 2 runs and you walk the first hitter and in jeopardy of walking 2nd.

The Tigers appealed and they had the right to do so. The home club showed the replay that altered the call. They can complaint if they caused the problem

Kansas writer:
From Fox broadcast, in umpire huddle, one said “Did you see that? He did not go back.” Another ump said, “Absolutely. Rusty even said it.”

Just about to say Joba having a good inning and wham. This freaking pen.

I have to leave for a dinner. Hope we win!! Go Tigers.

They pitch like they’re afraid…never going after and attacking hitters.

What it must be like to have a reliever throw just 9 pitches. .get 2 strikes outs and a ground out. What a beautiful world that must be?

My ride isn’t here yet. Joe Nathan? Lord have mercy.

Actually the Tiger bullpen pitches like the entire Oakland team has been playing…like they expect to lose.

Why can’t it ever be easy?

Get Nathan out….Ausmus have the You know what to make the right decision. He can’t get anyone out.

Yep, I would take Papelbon over Nathan

Time to make Soria the closer

At least no Nathan tomorrow

Yah…but why can’t it ever be easy!

Today’ game is even painful to watch on ESPN Gamecast! What is Ausmus doing? Is Dumbrowski pulling strings behind the scenes to get the two has-beens into games? Give it up for crying out loud. Tigers won’t win in the playoffs with Joba and Joe so go with the kids… aauuggghhhhhh!

What I don’t get…if you go to the replay rules it does say that seeing whether a runner touched bag is reviewable?

Great win. I do marvel at how Brad somehow manages NOT to use Soria at all. Why did we send Texas those prospects?
Anyway, the moves that worked were Collins pinch hitting and having the confidence in McCann to catch the rest of the game.
2.5 up (close to 3) and 8 games to play.
And everyone knows Nathan shouldn’t be closing games.

I don’t think anyone is entirely clear on the replay rules. The bottom line is getting it right and that happened. There will be a huge uproar over this one, though.

Perez vs Perez.
Rosenthal:
Torii Hunter just told me that IF Hernan Perez alerted #Tigers manager Brad Ausmus that #Royals’ Perez had not tagged at third.

Saw that. The call ups contribute in many ways.

decent game today….didn’t like the sloppy play though. player of the game: Hernan Perez.

I was wondering, Where’s Waldo?

Now, I already know the Tigers won this game, but I just got home and am watching the 9th inning. OMG, Joe Nathan is giving me a stomach ache just watching it.

I like the McCann kid.
