Saturday (Game 2) lineups: Tigers at White Sox

After some speculation that the Tigers might give Cabrera the night game or DH — or completely off — he’s in his usual spot at first base. The changes are Alex Avila behind the plate, Don Kelly at third in place of Nick Castellanos, Andrew Romine at short for Eugenio Suarez, and Ezequiel Carrera in the outfield in Torii Hunter’s place. Rajai Davis moves to leadoff, with Carrera batting ninth.

The White Sox put Paul Konerko at first base, Dayan Viciedo in left field, Adrian Nieto behind the plate and Leury Garcia at third.

Not much point commenting on this game. It’s pretty much an exhibition game.

As soon as he can walk, he will play. Mired in a s lump still better than most.
I guess that shows enough of that sense of urgency fans want from the team and will to win,

Wow, early on here I would say I would gladly swap starting pitchers.
That Basset can throw.

Ryan looks like he has a pretty decent breaking ball.

Geez ET-I’d like to agree with you, as you are very knowledgeable, but I’m afraid I can’t. I see a major problem with Miguel right now and it is not just what he is doing at the plate.

Im just trying to make sense of the situation. I thinks he looks frustrated at the plate but who replaces him

Anybody.
I guess I should be satisfied but we are really lucky to be ahead two in this game.
Clark sent Rajai home and he was out by 30 feet if the throw was anywhere within 6 ft of the plate.
Miggy swings away and pulls the ball with Kinsler on 2nd- he should have been out.
As to what to do with Miggy. My feeling is that playing him injured is only going to make matters worse, possibly much worse. Don’t pussyfoot around with this guy. Everybody knows he will not take himself out because of his love for the game.
There is a lot of investment (and not just monetary) in this man and heneeds to be told what to do. Nobody wants to sit him as we all think he mystically will rediscover his natural ability. Forget it. His body is breaking down at the end of the season again. This will continue to happen if he continues to carry the weight he packs around. And if he continues in playing through injuries that exacerbate the matter.
Make him sit, make him heal, make him fester on the bench and make him a better player again.
Victor is at the stage of his career and his stature as a team leader that he would actually benefit from the opportunity at becoming a full time positional player.
Who do you then DH? Hunter, JD, Moya, to name a few.
Ryan is making some pretty nice pitches, I must admit.

Cabrera out, Castellanos in

Moya just hit his 35th. That goes with over a hundred ribbies while hitting over .275
There is absolutely nothing wrong with having him on our bench in September.

McCann, Moya, Perez,Collins and every pitcher on the 40 roster

Below reactivated.I dont know if that was a procedural move or he is ready

Cy Ryan! Gosh he’s like the 3rd youngster to pitch well up here

the same way our team struggles against rookies

where did KC’s offense go? oh yeah – they were due to regress.

like our pen….

touche

Ug, this is not happening….

The Tigers scored 5 runs and you just knew it might not be enough.

well the bottom of the order is up – nathan is fresh. well get out of this tonight. the real question is will we tac on a run or two here in the 9th…

ian has gone crazy today!

This is better, nice pinch hit by Castellanos!

hmmmm 3 add on runs? AWESOME.

O´s made two trades tonight

de aza will not be missed in the 4 games we still have to play against the white sox this year. that reminds me, i always liked the garcia-iggy deal because it ment peavy left the division.

Tiger bats bail out General Longstreet.

We lose the Scherzer game and win the Ryan game. Sure, why not? Nice tacking on those 9th inning runs.
I’d like to have Miggy sit out a few myself, but it seems to be against the law or something. Don’t know why Leyland and Ausmus have played him into the ground. As we’ve been seeing this week, the team does okay without him for short stretches. Won 6 of 8 this week.

TOMLIN!

1. Ryan gave his best impression of Jamie Moyer.
2. Kinsler played O for a change along with the D.
3. Easy K made his presence known tonight.
Kudos to Donnie Baby for three hits and a rib tonight. Also good job by the guys to get three of the four back in the late innings. Jo Jo had a rare 1-2-3. Nice win for the Rookie Lefty.

hey now KC is imploding in the 11th

Ryan> scherzer

Another loss by the Royals . Tigers tied for FIRST PLACE . The Miggy injury has to be dealt with . Rough month again only time will tell.
