Saturday’s lineups: Tigers vs. Mariners

Though Rajai Davis has respectable numbers off Felix Hernandez at 4-for-14, Brad Ausmus is going to give Ezequiel Carrera an opportunity. He’ll bat second, with Ian Kinsler moving up to leadoff for the night.

“I don’t want to put too much of a magnifying glass on Carrera hitting leadoff right now,” said Ausmus.

Most of the Tigers numbers off Hernandez aren’t as bad as you’d think, though the power numbers are very limited.

You have the wrong starting pitcher listed for the Tigers, unless Mad Max really is a superman

Wishful thinking? A lot of pressure on the rookie Robbie Ray.

Great… another screwed up lineup and they are going up against King Felix. What a train-wreck. My hat is off to Mr. Carrerra having to try to break into the majors under these circumstances. Next one to go ought to be Dumbo…!

More good news! A’s are scuffling, which is what you would have expected from their lineup in the playoffs. So, Dumbo panics, screws up the offense for another star pitcher to beat the A’s, and THUD!!! Funny, but it looks like the Royals and Mariner’s are who he should have been thinking about. Oh well, season’s hope of playoffs is pretty much over now. And it won’t get better for the Tigers as they go into the last month with the Central teams just waiting for them.

I certainly am not scared of any AL central team.

Evan. That will change… If Tigers get mad and push back they can win it. But Central teams are going to be waiting. Royals are different this time around and they have everything to gain…and they have solid momentum. Tigers have lost traction and have a mediocre bullpen. If pitching is so important then Mariners will make the playoffs. They have the best ERA in the AL and Tiger pen is almost a joke. Why isn’t Nathan at Toledo? And Joba is another Todd Jones clone. I mean no disrespect but no being afraid of Central teams as you say doesn’t make sense.

white sox suck, KC is due to cool off, do we even play minny – they suck though, cleveland really isn’t very good either (no pitching).

That will not matter once they start playhing each other. The bull pen is going to make mashers out of the other Central teams… unless Ausmus leaves the starters in for 8 innings or more. Those Central teams are just getting ready for the last month….

I’d have little faith with this team against a below average pitcher right mow let alone Felix Hernandez at his best.

You are so right!! Amen. Tigers will be 2-1/2 games out of playoffs tonight.

Lloyd is right, you dont do that. You could hurt him

That is true. …but the balls and strikes have been the same

Sorry Llyod. ….it’s a tight strike zone and you can be all upset but Price had the same pitches called balls too!

Is Cano, infield in?

that goes by and is a 2B

Just got home. Sorry I thought Ray was pitching tonight. Price is shutting them down so far. But the Tigers have those 2 dreaded runs again. It’s tough against the “King” but they need more.

Felix has 92 pitches after only 5 innings. How far can he go? But then again the Seattle BP is really good, right?

Two runs against Cy Felix

Kinsler a rally killer again.

is miggy getting his power back?

couple add on runs there……we’ll end up seeing 4-6 pitchers….I’d say if we could win this series. is KC winning? nope they’re cooling off up in minny.

remove that “if” above

KC is behind 3-1 in the 8th . Fingers and toes crossed…….

Bottom of the lineup. ….coming through

Kc goes down tonight

tigers take it! bless these boys! season isn’t over yet!

Miguel helping with the glove

NIck was good tonight. He’s going to be a force in the coming seasons :)

SRO and it was worth every cent to watch.

Great win! I know some of you are laughing at me but that number 2 is deadly for the Tigers this month. If they hadn’t added on those extra runs, Nathan would have another blown save and the game is tied. Extra innings would mean more bullpen arms needed and maybe another loss. So humor me. The Tigers need more than 2 runs to win.

Just what they need right now…Nathan blowing game in 9th. Thank goodness for 2 runs in 7th. This is why Tigers are really in trouble. Another extra-inning game tonight and you could kiss next week goodbye. Enjoy this one though.

and i gotta say it, Alex Avila has been good lately – offensively contributing when we really really needed him. kudos man.

I could watch David Price pitch all day. When’s the last time we had a lefty like that?
The Tiger hitters proved they could work their ABs early tonight. I’d like to see more of that when the situation calls for it.
Nathan has the experience, but he needs to miss a few more bats. A little too much contact going on.

Mickey? idk i’m too young to remember one. but too old for one direction

I think my grandchildren are too old for One Direction.
I was thinking Lolich myself.

One year of Kenny Rogers

Lolich, Willie Hernandez (reliever) Rogers, and don’t forget Don Mossi and the great Hank Aguirre…did I leave any one out from the 70’s, 80’s or 90’s?

Don’t forget David Wells, Frank Tanana, Woody Fryman or John Hiller

1. Brad shows moxey by giving DP a chance to finish the 8th.
2. Price shows moxey by finishing the 8th.
3. Tigers show moxey by adding on 2 huge runs.
Well, the Price is right; I don’t think anyone could argue that any more. Kudos to Rookie 1. As I said a couple of nights ago, this guy has great upside potential as a MLB hitter. Miggy continues to hit better, and looked solid on the D. Kudos to the guys for not swinging at everything the “Cat” threw up there. Had him on the run, yet he still pitched a fine game. Would be huge if we could get the series win tomorrow.

Great game tonight. Haven’t enjoyed one like this in a while. I do like David Price. Nothing like stating the obvious.) The trade was a good one for the Tigers). I just think Jackson was a much needed CF, an important player to have to give up. Mostly I just don’t like these late season trades. But Price, yes I’m extremely happy to have him. Tonight he was special. Rich, regarding RD, one day I like him, the next I don’t. So maybe that averages out to he’s OK on the team. You’re right that he hasn’t under performed. Carrera hopefully is a legit answer to loss of AJ. ET, the point I was making was simply that I prefer JD overall to RD and it isn’t close in my estimation. Rios has the numbers no doubt.

NOW, LET’S ALL CALM DOWN …AND PLAY BALL! GO TIGERS!
