Now, things are escalating. A fan booing and heckling Victor

that is ridiculous, of all people on this team to boo, stupid fans

So im gathering max isn’t going to be given the same strike zone. I hate umpires

Max!!! KKKKKKK

Anyone see the Robin Ventura performance last night? Got a kick out of it, we don’t get to see too many of those with instant replay anymore!

He had a right to be angry they dont have a bit of consistency or common sense when it comes to that rule.

Just watched it! What a show. I don’t agree with the new rule. It’s stupid.

Almost looked like Lou Pinella when he was manager of the Cubs .

None of that matters. Nathan or Joba might pitch and a 2-run lead is gone. Everybody getting healthy on those two

Are we even going to get a hit today? 3 innings s walk and a batter reaching by error. Argh.

They are boosting Max’s pitch count with all those foul balls. Meanwhile Kinsler makes out on the 2nd pitch.

Wow! 9 strikeouts in 4 innings.

Hunter strikes out on 2 wayyyy out of the strike zone pitches. Thank you.
.
They need more than 2 runs to cover JobaJoe in the 8th and 9th innings. That number 2 has been very unlucky for them.

with max pitching like this – i think it gives the whole team confidence. WE GOT THIS!

GONE!

*high fives kathy* LONG GONE!

JD Martinez agrees with me! laser shot via the buggy whip

Suarez is totally lost

lariano kinda falling apart here – GET HIM MIGGY

KKKKKKKKKKKK
what a pitching performance, let’s get some runs boys! Thanks JD for sparking the offense, although Max should inspire everyone today.

We need more runs.

2-0 lets get 2 more boys!

time for the first GS

Oh, c’mon Nick.

Really Miggy weakly grounding out to 3rd…get it together.

At least Miggy needed to hit the ball to the outfield . He no longer looks sure of himself at the plate.

Max has 95 pitches, 96.

get a double play max! we probably need 1 more inning out of you!

Didn’t you hear he can’t throw that many…sorry it still irks me🙂

OK OK now i think you need to start up the Mercedes. Max over 100 and getting wild.

None the less a really good outing

Is he coming out for the 8th?

nobody warming up – so i assume. sheesh i’d have someone warmed up if i was going to send max back out there.

me, too.

The Miggy weak grounder was clearly out of the strike zone. Torii swung at one out of the strike zone to strike out. Casty had all 3 out of the strike zone. So there is that dreaded 2 runs again.Max 108 pitches. Can he go one more inning?

All Casty had to do is stand there. I don’t think any of those pitches was a strike, was it? He just can’t lay off.

well he IS a rookie – it happens.

I honestly don’t believe that he went back out for the 8th. ..seriously shocked

14 strikeouts. We gotta win.

I’d yank him now. At least walk someone out there.

Ok just walked a guy hitting 135 might be time Ausmus.

GOT HIM!!!!! TERRIFIC OUTING MAX!

He survived. Thank goodness.

The big 3 coming up for the Tigers. Get more than that 2 runs, please?

Double, walk. Not Hunter. Try Kelly or Carrerra.

gawd i love add-on runs

Yes. Add-on runs. Especially with this bullpen. Hopefully these runs will clinch it. They’re off that 2 run jinx.

this bullpen!

You SEE what I mean? There’s that 2 runs that would have tied the game and deprived Max of a win. The bullpen again.

Oh, dear Lord. Now Joba. Can Joe be far behind?

OMG, I went to garage to iron a blouse and came in to this.

Hell of a play by Torii

Whew! Joba had it today. Another win and KC is trailing Oakland.

good game today fellas! The season is NOT over, contrary to popular belief.

GO OAKLAND!

for those who are bored…..KC vs Oakland is the free game of the day on MLB

Come on Oakland! We all want to be back in the front, the scare was enough already. I did not see it, but sounds like Torii had a terrific catch, showing he can still make the plays out there once in a while.

1. Mad max was beyond Thunder dome.
2. Can’t wait for Rookie One’s sophomore season.
3. Old Man River still has a little Gumbee in him.
Kudos to Joba, Julio, nad Ian for his defense. Coke ran out of fizz today, but at least we avoided Joe. Nice hit by Miggy in the 8th. Grind and grit. That’s what makes a winner. Looking forward to Ajax’s smile tomorrow evening. Just hope, he doesn’t decide to give a little back to DD.

The Tigers would have scored more on Liriano if they’d used a patient approach. As it was, patience is what got the 6th inning rally going, but then the run producers, in this case Miggy and Torii, weren’t patient. Expected that, I guess. So there was a temporary adjustment that resulted in one run, which is better than no adjustment at all.
Max is acin’ it up all over the place and that was an eye popping diving catch by old T. Hunt. Didn’t know he had it in him.

One last comment on the Nathan situation: until Soria returns, there is no other closer in the organization, so it’s useless to voice displeasure. I’d love to ask a fan in mid-boo “Who is it you’d rather have out there right now, and ‘anybody’ is not an answer.”

see they aren’t necessarily booing nathan. the man who puts him out there and the GM who signed him as our closer are also being booed.
.
Royals take the lead.

No, they are booing the results.

anticipated results. brad won’t take him out of the closer role. DD should have signed benoit or rodney. etc.

I would have agreed that they were booing the results until last night when the booing started with ball one on the first pitch and was in full riot mode by ball four.

Royals have tied in on a clutch base hit by Dyson

Oaklands BP blows it!

Hey, it’s all about us!
All these years and must send out a cheer for the best blogger here: Rich, wonderful understanding of the game and a better fan can’t be found.
Look forward to more of the same for as long as we have!

Wow, thanks Dan. I appreciate that. We do have some good ones here, of which you are one.

Great outing for Max today also Joba did a good job closing it out . They played much better at home . Looks like the Royals are marching on,,,,,,
