Wednesday’s lineups: Tigers at Rangers

Texas 004

As promised, both Torii Hunter and J.D. Martinez are in the lineup. That meant one of the outfielders had to sit, and while Austin Jackson is hitting lefties better this season, he’s 1-for-7 with three strikeouts for his career off Joe Saunders. Thus, he sits. Rajai Davis starts in center field.

Reminder: Tonight is an ESPN2 game if you’re outside the Detroit TV market and the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

pete kozma was just released…..is he a fit? Suarez did get 2 hits last night….

He’s already cleared waivers and optioned.

Oddities: The rookie manger does not trust the rookie relievers. The veteran manager threw the relievers in with bases loaded against Manny. The over use of a few relievers mainly Joba and Albiquerque will come back with a revenge. Already cost them Krol.

Evans: this will cause Kinsler to be drilled:

yea yea i know about it but I just don’t know if a) it warrants being hit, b) it warrants no retaliation back (if hit him).

“The Code” has softened over the last few years, but it’s up to how the Rangers took it. I don’t think they should throw at him but if they take a fair shot, then let it end there.

the problem is that the first rule of the code is you don’t talk about the code…right?

Shelton 11 HR away.5 at home. The schedule was out of balance. When they began playing at home more times , he tried to do the same and failed

bless these boys!

I’ve lost track. Is JD on a 14 game hit streak or something?

league leading, no?

There goes the no hitter! Wonder if there has ever been 2 in one day? Good start to the game but Miggy needs to be careful on running through those stop signs.

Move him back to LF .

Anibal having a bad inning. And pitch count way too high. Then Castellanos error. Was that ball a possible DP?

Had he attacked it , yes

Sloppy inning.

Casty has some work to do on his fielding that is for sure

What ever happened to throwing inside to batters? Anibal could have prevented ALL of the runs by just getting these batters in on their hands.

JD IS CRAZY

Martinez 2!!!!!!!

Julio is unconscious like crazy streaks like this!

Anibal: ” Mala mía”. ” My Bad”

Anibal isn’t sharp like he usually is.

He hit another one. Anibal?

OK, I’m watching on MLB.com. Who’s doing the play-by-play with Rod?

Oh, it’s Craig Monroe. Ok. Answered my own question. Sorry!

God, this commentary is awful. Please come back, Mario! Neither Trevor nor Craig Monroe are doing great, but them together is just painful

Love CMo but he is tough to listen to. He tries to say too much and fumbles over his words. Has great excitement for the team and the game but just not a great announcer. I am watching the ESPN coverage I like to hear others take on the team once in a while.

CMo? I think he’s great. At first it sounded strange not to hear Maro, but it’s been kind of fun with mixing things up.

Everything all screwed up with Mario getting food poisoning.

Al warming again. Unbelievable

Very nervous right now. Come on AlAl

Pitching not so good tonight.

ESPN did not show Clark. Did he wave him home?

The consensus is that Dave Clark is having a rough night at 3rd.

Dan & Jim thought it was a HR and Rajai caught it.

I thought it was a homer.

Joe Nathan doesn’t appear fixed!

Tigers win.

And Kansas City gets defeated by the Dodgers !! Gotta keep this up.

These games are too damned long. That’s all I got tonight.

1. 3-4-5 have six Ribs. Hard to lose in that scenario.
2. 8-9 starters each have at least one hit, and even he got on base.
3. Nathan only gives up one run in a save situation.

Kudos to M and M. This Julio guy is going through one of those never forget streaks. Ride it while we can. It was good to add on runs. Texas was pesky enough to stay in the game. Hardy has a fantastic breaking ball. Joba was dependable as usual. Still don’t like Rags as a leadoff hitter. The job of a leadoff guy in any inning is to try to get on base. Leave Kinsler there, or put Ajax back to the top. You would get as much production then as when Davis plays. I’m anxious to see the shakeout if Dirks comes back and is productive. One thing is for sure; Julio’s not been hanging down at the schoolyard; he has his head into the game and wants to play. Again, it’s great to catch the Rangers in down mode. Already a successful roadtrip; everything after tonight is gravy. Finally Coke lives to fizz another day. Maybe, he has found himself; if you have Phil, help Ajax to find himself too.
