Tuesday’s lineups: Tigers at White Sox

The Tigers have pretty much the same lineup against Jose Quintana that they put up against him last week in Detroit, with the exception of the catcher. Alex Avila was originally in the lineup, then was scratched with lower back spasms. It hasn’t been a lingering injury, but just came up today, according to Brad Ausmus, who characterized him as day-to-day.

With Avila out, Bryan Holaday gets the start behind the plate, batting eighth.

The White Sox lineup has Adam Eaton back from injury in center field. He takes the place of Jordan Danks. Add in Gordon Beckham at second base, and it’s otherwise the same lineup the White Sox posted against Verlander last week at Comerica Park.
