Saturday’s lineups: Tigers vs. Angels

Get used to the Tigers’ anti-lefty lineup, because with five meetings in the next six days against southpaw starters, it’s going to be a familiar sight. That potentially includes Rajai Davis in the leadoff spot, Ian Kinsler hitting second and Torii Hunter batting fifth.

“I’ve kind of had that in mind,” Brad Ausmus said.

On the Angels side, Brennan Boesch gets his first start in a Halos uniform. He’ll be playing right field, batting ninth.

That’s the lineup I wanted, but against all pitchers, not just lefties. Hope it works.

At some point, the boys have to say “enough is enough”. 10 straight loses to the same team dating back to 2012. And they were smacked around in some of those games very similar to last night. Time to make a stand. And it needs to start today with Mr Cy Young.
Go Tigers.

What’s that old comment about waiting until the 40 game mark before coming to any real conclusions? I’m willing myself to do that because we have so many new players. BTW, I also like today’s lineup. Hope it works and Max is on his game. Go Tigers!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was a Sparky-ism. Not that it wasn’t a good parameter, though.

Now, I’m going to rant.. 8 years of one of the best lineups and pitching staffs in history, but we couldn’t win a WS GG’s, SS’s, MVP’s, CY’s, TC didn’t net us a World Series championship. If you want to be remembered forever, please win a World Series. 30 years and counting..

How about this: we’ve played 35 postseason games in the last three years. That’s 35 cold October days that we got to watch our Tigers play important games. How many other teams can say that?

I’ll remember them, but thy will never be immortalized.

Who is batting 8th? Is he a new acquisition? Do we see Mad Max or Bad Max today? Do we see Miggy snap out of his funk? Since April 8th Miggy has batted .156 with 2 GIDP….but his BABIP is .200 during that time. I’m putting money on it that he snaps out of it today.

Bad idea . You dnt steal with miguel and victor waiting

Most of the time , means taking away the bat from the best hitter. I was with Leyland.

Great homer by NC. First hit by Holaday. But with Avila in a continuous slump, why did they let last year’s back-up get away. He seemed a better hitter than AA. Can’t remember his name. LOL. My mind is losing it. Tried to find it in the list to the right. Why is Yoenis Cespedes on that list?

Pena, B.

Brayan Pena. Maybe McCann will work out but Cabrera in Erie does switch hit.
This team will not win without Miguel Cabrera. Right now we don’t have Miguel Cabrera.
Turned the game off yesterday in the 2nd inning. Could smell a poor performance.

Brayan Pena. Thank you. Did anyone else notice Cespedes’ name at the bottom of that list on the right of this page that supposedly has former and present Tiger players?

Did you click on his name? Jason has a blog post about it.

Worth playing short (Perez at 2nd) today. Will he be given another chance?

The Tigers were mentioned a lot among the candidates to sign Cespedes

Looked like an IBB in disguise. if you dont want to throw anything good why take the risk instead of giving the IBB openly

Nice to see Max settle down after the first couple of innings. Joba threw 8 pitches around 94-96mph, all strikes! I like Ajax, Nick, Holaday, Romine at the bottom of the order. That was a needed “w”!!

Good game from $cherzer. I thought today was a good example of how we’ll have to win ’em.

LMAO @ $cherzer

Much needed win after the Halos won so many . Game plan tomorroww keep Albert and Trout off the bases. Pitching much better today .

Holaday did a nice job today. Great bunt.

Trout 4AB’s/4K’s!! Definitely a plus to today.

1. Jaba the Hut strikes again and again.
2. Add on Runs from the Tigers.
3. Halo 2-3-4 is one for nine.

Kudos to Victor, Nick, and especially Max. Great bunt from Holliday. Good defense from the Guys today. Migg is warming up. Great win.

positional AL rookies this year…Cast is 2nd in OPS (.787)
