Thursday: Tigers vs. Marlins

Spring Training 012

It’s not a completely regular lineup for the Tigers today for the chilly, snowbound local TV audience, but there are some interesting guys worth watching beyond the three guys in the middle. Rajai Davis gets a day in the leadoff spot, while Steven Moya gets another start in right field. Again, Moya is not going to make the team, but if this spring serves as a confidence boost that carries him into Double-A Erie, it could do wonders for his development.

This lineup will take its cuts against former Tiger Jacob Turner, who gets the start for the Marlins.

Today’s game is on Fox Sports Detroit back home and on MLB.TV online.

Is Davis playing left and leading off? Who is leading off if Davis is not as stated?
Let’s hope Smyly continues to develop as a starter! You gotta believe Aus would have liked to catch this group of starters in his day!

It says “gets a day in the leadoff spot”

Rob Brantly now blocked by Saltalamacchia. Is Brantly projected as his backup or has he fallen further in the depth chart?

he must not have impressed them as they acquired salty post brantly

is Placido Polanco in Marlins’ camp, unofficially retired, or elsewhere?

Love those triples! Action Jackson on a roll.

Good outing by Joba..

Could Suarez replace Iglesias to begin the season?

He has performed better that Perez. He has the glove to handle the position. I expect it to go down to the last week. I am looking forward to seeing him next week. i saw him for a few inning last year and his glove was close to Jose.

Smyly’s been better….I’m sure he’ll work that out (fingers crossed). Hitters still really aren’t hitting except for the explosion against the cards. With the exception of AJ of course..save some of those for the regular season AJ.
