Reminder: Traffic advisory for tonight

A note on this was already on the site last night, but I wanted to add it to the blog today, too: While the Tigers host the Royals tonight at Comerica Park for a 7:08pm start, Kenny Chesney and other acts will be in concert across the street at Ford Field in an all-day event that begins at 4:30pm. Add the two sellout crowds together and, well, that’s a lot of people driving downtown for the same parking lots.

Olympia Development Parking Services announced Friday that its lots east of Woodward will be held for fans attending the Tigers game. If you show a ticket or parking pass, or if you have tickets waiting at will call, you can use those parking lots. No tailgating will be allowed in those lots so that they can fit as many cars as possible.

The Oympia lots east of Woodward are available on a first-come, first-served basis, whether you’re going to the ballgame or the concert. Considering the crowd that’s already downtown, I’m guessing more than a few of those served are going to the concert.

Either way, plan on a lot of traffic, and exercise some patience. Even coming in around 1pm, there were a lot of folks downtown, though the streets weren’t jammed quite yet. I haven’t heard anything on when the concert is expected to wrap up.

Could somebody please (Maybe Mr & Mrs Verlander) give JV a few lessons in humility?
Butler very gracious in explaining his success agains JV and JV almost dismissive of how good BB has been. http://www.mlive.com/tigers/index.ssf/2013/08/detroit_tigers_justin_verlande_104.html
Here’s a clue JV—He is sitting and waiting for you to throw him the arrogant fastball. DUH!

I’ll tell Justin needs a major attitude adjustment. And somebody’s got to tell him he is not that great and there are 30 pitchers in the league with better numbers. He’s such a tool and doesn’t have the numbers to back up the arrogance.

Actually 39 pitchers have better eras than he does..

Wow that is awesome that you personally know Justin Verlander, I mean even if you do think he is a tool, I think it’s cool that you guys are acquainted.

All I have to do is listen to him give interviews. To know he is arrogant it only takes reading that interview to realize it

Alineación de hoy vs. KC: Jackson 8, Kelly 9, Cabrera 5, Fielder 3, Martinez DH, Dirks 7, Infante 4, Peña 2, Iglesias 6. Fister comienza.
