Wednesday’s lineups: Tigers at Indians

More Cleveland 001The Tigers don’t know a whole lot about Danny Salazar, who will make the start for the Indians tonight. He only faced Toledo once in his 13 starts for Triple-A Columbus, and the Tigers don’t have a whole lot of hitters who have made the shuttle from Toledo to Detroit this year. The lefty-righty splits weren’t that big for him in Columbus, so they don’t have that, either. It’s the type of situation that tends to make manager Jim Leyland a little nervous, especially after what Andre Rienzo did to his lineup on Sunday.

Brayan Pena gets the start behind the plate, giving Alex Avila a night off, but the big news is in left field, where Don Kelly gets a second consecutive start.

don’t think the weather will be too much a factor tonight

A track star from Cleveland?

Jesse Owens.

Crossing fingers for Iggy.

I thought that Omar was supposed to play 2nd for Toledo tonight…..he is not?? Anybody hear anything.

He’s not in the lineup. Supposed to be, though. Maybe his ankle is sore?

Where’s ElTigre? He usually knows what’s going on with all the players. Where’s Omar?

After Dan & Jim got through admiring Cleveland’s catcher, the guy hits a HR.

Doug throwing up a few cookies tonight.

We need to put some runs on the board.

Salazar is no joke, is he.

Mud Hens radio broadcast says Infante was a last-minute scratch from lineup. No reason given

Not good.

Well, it’s probably a sore ankle or he’s on his way to Cleveland.

Guillen redux

What the heck did he do to his ankle? Torn tendons? Broken bone?

Guillen certianly never recovered well from his incident at 2nd……this thing with Infante is taking too long.

It is taking too long. Having had to work with a torn tendon in my ankle, I can understand the pain. But, if I didn’t work, I didn’t get paid and I needed to get paid.

Finally, we get to see Iglesius make a few plays. Seems like Jhonny was a lot busier.

Well….this Salazar looks like it might be an uphill battle, dude is good.

Another great Prince at bat???????? Yuk

Might be time to consider getting Doug out

That was a beautiful play by Pena and Iggy.
Jason says Omar has a sore ankle.

Boy I didn’t think Brantley was out at 2nd till the replay…..followed by a bad call at first. …jeez

May as well forget about Prince. Accept that he will not hit 25 nor will he hit .270
The problem is that he has not been able to carry this team at any point this year. The big guns are supposed to be able to do that.
This is gonna hurt (Infante). Omar brings some danger to the plate. He also makes a lot of contact and provides base speed. Ramon won’t be able to do that. He is playing really good baseball right now but he does not bring the threat that Omar does. If Dirks doesn’t start hitting this is going to be a long road to hoe. The bottom of the lineup (including #6) is going to see a lot of games with no punch whatsoever.

Chase Utley: 27 million for 2 years.

The Tigs have to take advantage of the gifts they were given in the 6th. Could just as easily been 1st & 2nd with nobody out.
Wonder if Bonderman is still throwing?

Sorry that was a bull strike out call against Santiago

Never fails, you don’t take advantage of your very good runner 3rd 1 out opportunities and the other team always seems to not screw it up. Q doesn’t have it tonight

Guess the ump has decided it doesn’t matter how far out ofte zone the ball is, it’s a strike now late in the game for Salazar. He’s got enough you don’t have to and him gifts.

Kid making his second big league start and is awarded the biggest strike zone I’ve seen all season.

Armpits to shoe tops.

Glad it wasn’t just me who noticed. It got bigger as the game went on too.

Hahahahahahaha! Loving every minute of it. That right there is why he is the best. Theres some magic going on in detroit. Can u feel it. This may sound a lil harsh but f*** you salazaar. In your face. Allow us to introduce you to miguel cabrera.

Call that one beyond the fence a strke.

Why can’t we get Brantley out seriously. …its stupid

Pitch to him was set on a freaking tee by Smyly

Another pitch put on a tee for Sanana…..Jeez Drew.

Ryan raburn. R u fricking serious. We need to call upon the ghost of harry houdini. Hopefully he answers. Biggest game of the year so far for young rookie bruce rondon. 10 game winning streak on the line against our biggest rival with ryan fricking raburn at the plate.

Doesnt get any better than this. Ooh rondon brought the nasty with him

Come on. Damnit.

Good job i guess.:/

Blown save but a good inning

Playing the infield back there. Wow Jim.

2 RISP, 0 outs. Only one run.

Understood, but there was one out.

Wrong location of my comment. I was still praising Rondon. Not commenting the infield out call.

Infield back, we say out and in here

Why the double switch with Miguel?

Now possible extras with no miguel. Wth!

Ya I agree but it was probably for defense with miggy aching

Prolly sore. He had alot of swings and misses tonight

They are chanting “Detroit bankrupt.” Losers.

Its Cleveland

Boy does Fielder suck…and now a pick off

Indians pitchers continuing to get that wide strike zone.

Cmon someone needs to run into one. We have not much power with cabtera out and fielder sucking and pheralta gone. Cmon jackson.

I swear to god if raburn hits a walk off hr i am gonna be really mad. Oh sweet bonderman is in. He aint getting nothing of my man bondo.

Man bondo looks good. Mid 90s fastball is back. Still got that wicked slider and added a splitter to work as an offspeed pitch since he doesnt have a changeup.

You go bondo. You go. Most underrated signing of the year. Hes got his command. Hes healthy. Good velocity. Im telling ya. Bondo is really gonna help the tigers. Perfect example right here. Evan reed or putkonen or downs would of already lost this game.

Its about time Prince

Bad pitch by Benoit to Bourne
