Jackson activated from DL, Garcia to Toledo

After a month on the disabled list, Austin Jackson is back in the Tigers lineup. The team recalled him from his rehab assignment and activated him from the DL on Friday ahead of the series opener against the Twins.

Avisail Garcia, who filled in at center field and eventually became close to an everyday presence in the Tigers lineup, was optioned to Triple-A Toledo to make room. He batted .288 (19-for-66) with three doubles, a triple, two home runs and 10 RBIs with the Tigers.

For now, Garcia’s move down preserves the mix of Andy Dirks and Matt Tuiasosopo in left field.

How about sending Valverda to sell popcorn

we need him to work on some things besides his english

Garcia is as ready as it comes but it is not going to hurt playing fulltime at AAA. I would be surprise if he takes over LF next year.

would or wouldn’t – because i’m surprised one couldn’t see that happening if dirks doesn’t snap out of it

Garcia, sadly, will be prime trade bait next month. I consider him gone.

I think you may be right. This is one of the reasons I would like to see them try out Rondon in the closer role. If, and that would be a very big if, he works out then maybe we can keep Avi.

Thanx for clarifying your earlier point on moving forward.

I see him gone too. Only one caveat: he began the season in ML and he has been accruing playing time. So he could end as super two or with less time of control and that reduces his trade value
