april 27-may 12: in 24 PAs don is hitting .286/.375/.476/.851 and it’s not all luck either (e.g. his BABIP is .333)

Four games coming up in Texas where Jackson usually hits well. It was already going to be tough enough to split that series. We don’t do well there.
This might be the part of the season where we chase Cleveland for awhile. There’s usually somebody we chase.

Cleveland already won once today…bet NYY 1-0.

In my senile mind I still like a “fireman” (closer) who can hold runners on base and that has an understanding of the game of baseball. Valverde and Villarael have never instilled me with that feeling.

Bud must not do as well against left handed batters. Skip is front loading the lineup with them

(Bud Norris this season)
vs RHB his slash line is: .253/.322/.304/.626
vs LHB his slash line is: .309/.374/.474/.848

Going to the game tonight and tomorrow…..mother nature is on my nerves I’d wish she’d make it warmer and nicer. I haven’t had tickets to a game yet were winter coats and gear aren’t necessary.

supposed to start warming up tomorrow and getting into the 80′s within a couple days.

bud at home this year: 130PAs, .275/.331/.383/.714
bud on the road this year: 64PAs, .304/.391/.429/.819

Thought the 1st inning looked big. But no

Torri shoulda hit the cut off man…..mistake I expect him no to make those kind of mistskes

I know. He has done that a few times this year and two days in a row. I expect better decisions than that from an veteran.
.
– Bob

And running , he has a couple of mistakes too.

Looks pretty sloppy to me.

JL probably said to Torri, thats’s ok, get em next time.

Way to go, Victor!!!!

Did you like that, gk? Andy Dirks!!!!!!!!!

Pretty excited.

Who’s my Tiger? Andy Dirks. Wooo hoooo !!!!!!
.
A Grand slam? Is is true … It took us to September to hit a grand slam last year.
.
– Bob

Austin who?
Andy is sure in some form.
Crazy how hitting is so contagious.

Dirks needs a triple for the cycle.

We haven’t seen a cycle since Senior Cycle, Carlos Guillen. Geez, I miss him, sometimes.

or, is it Senor?

Señor

The cycle is called escalera, stair, in spanish

When you address a man. They called Carlos Senor Cycle after he hit for it. I don’t know how to make that little mark over the “n”.

You are right. Senor cycle with an american keyboard.
The letter is eñe. It is the equivalent of gn is french or italian.
My keyboard is in spanish.
He has a baseball academy.

A super drunk guy just fell on us,

I predicted Dirks would be a star! Just stay healthy!

Omar is my Mom’s Tiger! Guillen was my wife’s. Mine was Granderson. I am taking off the lettering and replacing it with Fielder! Go Tigers!

Looked like the guys were having a good time tonight
Dirks has obviously come alive.
Cabrera’s BA will have to level off so this is a good time to do the leveling, unless he’s going to hit .380 all year.
What’s up with Torii Hunter making rookie mistakes?
Rod and Mario’s conversation about “subluxation” was funny. Not a word one sees outside the medical profession.
Shannon Hogan is such a……..hostess.
Gk, I’ll tell me uncle to quit getting super drunk and falling on people. He does that.

And from the looks of my sentence, me uncle is also Irish.

Bent my spouses glasses…..thought for sure he would throw up on us. Funny about the Irish comment ( I’m Irish) but from the college of hasty generalizations not Irish but another ethnicity that is known for tying one on. We also heard him comment on how he called in sick to work today because he was still drunk from Sunday.??

My last sentence, with the typo “me uncle” instead of “my uncle” was why it sounded Irish to me. Not the drinking part.

Oh….I wasn’t offended though.

Just a no nonsense well played game. Not a total blowout, but comfortable enough where you can enjoy the game of baseball. And to boot, your team wins. That was the feel that I got in watching the guys tonight. First of all, Super Props to Dandy Andy, in one of his finest games as a Tiger. Also kudos to Victor for the long ball to get us going. There were three things that I particularly liked about tonight’s game:
1. Sanchez is like a brain surgeon, as he opens the needed area of repair. Then he closes the wound with perfect stitching. No mess! Just a very pinpoint operation.
2. Alex only struck out one time. He put the ball in play the other three. Speaking of surgery, he needs a bat transplant. Love the guy, but we have to get hi, going.
3. Jhonny and Omar keep on tickin like old dependable Timex watches. Their total game right now is fundamentally sound.

Props to Ortega also. Miggy decided to chill again tonight. After all, it was chilly. What i am anxious to see is this lineup, hitting consistenly from 1-9. Good night all.

It was quite cold at the park this evening.just wanted to make everyone aware that their are plenty of great tickets on stubhub for way below face value for these weekday games. 12bucks for outfield box. Thats over half off.

I thought Don did an OK job replacing AJ defensively. He also had a hit and a run (3 PAs). Kudos to Andy and Jhonny for hitting well last night.

hopefully dougs yellowhammer is breaking well (e.g. april 28th it was breaking ~8.8″) today instead of how it was his last game (~ 7.7″).

Board was kind of funny last night looking at your posts today! Saw only bits of the game last night, but enough to see the homeruns! I too think Omar is beginning to become my Tiger, I love all my guys but still trying to fill the void left by Guillen. Way to go Dirks!! And good for VMart on his long ball – nice power display yesterday and stellar pitching.

Go for Omar, Tigergirl. I think JL is starting to like him also. Maybe Avila should grow his hair long? It can’t hurt!

Lucas Harrell stumbling pretty bad right now. I wouldn’t have any beef if the skipper rested a fella today (e.g. peralta or omar). the past 38.1 innings for Harrell (so essentially i threw out his first start of the year, which was pretty good): .307/.407/.493/.900. His BABIP is a little high and his line drive % is a little low….so idk what to make of that.
.
Anyhow – might be nice to have another big offensive day today.

Best typo I’ve seen in a long time comes from Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post:
“It could have been worse this April, when Harper tried to rob a home in Atlanta”
Leave out “run” and it takes on a whole new meaning, doesn’t it?

Titus Young (x-detroit lion) recently DID ROB a home.
.
Rich what is your take on the Harper play (into the wall)? I think he was distracted or something because he ran right onto the track and right into the wall.

Uh……..he’s not the brightest bulb in the box?

Bryce Harper‏@Bharper34071h
I will keep playing this game hard for the rest of my life even if it kills me! Ill never stop! #RespectTheGame
.
Will Rhymes‏@willrhymes
.@Bharper3407 but more importantly #RespectTheWall

Ask Grady Sizemore how baseball is going for him today?
