Tuesday’s lineup: Tigers at Nationals

Back on the beat from Washington, where it’s nice to cover a Nationals home game without driving to Viera for a change.

The weather is miserable as of 3pm. There’s a 60 percent chance of rain at game time, according to weather.com, which might provide enough reason to wait this one out. If they play, the Tigers have their regular lineup going, sans Victor Martinez. Everybody else moves up, which means the Tigers will have back-to-back left-handed hitters in the middle of the order with Prince Fielder and Andy Dirks.

  1. Austin Jackson, CF
  2. Torii Hunter, RF
  3. Miguel Cabrera, 3B
  4. Prince Fielder, 1B
  5. Andy Dirks, LF
  6. Jhonny Peralta, SS
  7. Alex Avila, C
  8. Omar Infante, 2B
  9. Anibal Sanchez, P

Depends on the timing of those bands (not good) and how patient they want to be. Over here, I got a full inch of rain before noon and nothing measurable since. Got slightly damp on the walk to the mailbox just now, though.

Oh boy……I was so looking forward to watching a game tonight.

Don’t give up on it yet. Weather here is really odd after living in Michigan all those years.

Our offense is smoking hot right now; So i wanna play tonight and tomorrow because it’s not who you play it’s when you play ’em! But i don’t think it’s happening.

Game called.

I’m fairly certain they could have played this one tonight. Now we have to worry about tomorrow night.
Makeup Thursday at 4 PM.

tomorrow night looks much better than tonight’s forecast. I had plans to be fishing tonight anyhow😉

Since I’m going tomorrow, I’ll bet money the weather will be worse. 🙂

Field is playable. There goes Sanchez’s start against Cleveland.

I guess Porcello was scheduled to start Sunday anyway. Against Cleveland….

When will we makeup the rain out with the Royals??

I just got back from DC. Worn out from 8 hours of driving with a dinner break in between. It was the worst rainy weather I’ve seen in years. Rained all the way out Rt. 66, and on down I 81 South. It finally stopped raining in Lexington. Will head back up since I already had tickets for Thursday.
