Let’s hope Boesch is done pouting and starts to hit the ball squarely.

um….why are all these lefties in the lineup today? Righties hit this guy harder and better. Does that not matter or does it matter only half because the pitcher is only half of the equation? My lineup would have gone: AJ, OI, MC, PF, JP, AD, DY, BB

Four lefties in the lineup. Who do you replace, and with whom? Baker? Laird? Make a pre-game trade? 🙂

more or less switch OI into the 2 spot and JP behind Prince.

And who do you bat ninth ?

LOL i’d have GL batting 9th. And I play BB only because all the lefties coming up will likely reduce his playing time.

More importantly, JL will have to tweak the rotation with the off days. As it lines up right now, JV doesn’t pitch in either Chicago series. Obviously, that can’t happen. Don’t know if it can be done, but it sure would be nice to hit the Sox with Verlander, Fister and Scherzer in six of the seven games. The division rides on those two series.

You are right, Rich. I commented on that a couple times already. If he pushed Verlander up to next Wednesday against the Jays and pushed Sanchez back to Thursday, then JV would pitch the final game in both series against the White Sox. The other option is if JV goes next Thursday then he needs to bring him back on the following Tuesday against the Royals. If he does not do this and JV does not pitch in both White Sox series, that is unacceptable. The key game is the August 28th game against the Royals. JV must pitch that game or he will not be able to pitch on the Labour Day weekend unless he pitches him on 3 days rest and JL is not going to do that. The off days are there to make this happen so there is no excuse for this to not happen.

JL must adjust the rotation to accommodate this. If he does even I would rather part ways after the season.

(with JL that is)

if he doesn’t*

The other Day on the radio Jim said that Leyland and Lamont sat down and figured out the rotation for the rest of the year… which supposedly included a couple off days for JV.

by off days i mean an extra day of rest…

Not a bad idea. Particularly if it is incorporated into idealizing the rotation/opposition.

No more victor comeback😦

We all knew that was a “dream” anyway.
Ricky Porcello. I am hoping that next year will be “his” year. The guy has youth on his side, has mentorship on the roster, has ability, has a strong arm (95 MPH?), and has determination. he is missing another pitch. He develops another one (cutter, slider), and he’ll make Tiger fans very happy. It won’t be this year.

Here’s a possible JV schedule through October 3rd. He’s either the tone setter or hammer if the third game is the series decider.

8/17 O’s 1st game of series
8/23 BJs 3rd game of series
8/28 Roy 1st ” ” ”
9/2 W/S 3rd ”
9/7 Ang 1 st
9/12 W/S 3rd game
9/18 As 1st
9/23 Tw 3rd game
9/28 Tw 1st game
10/3 Roy 3rd game

Obviously it’s better if we clinch before 9/28!!!!!!!!!
