Friday’s lineups: Tigers vs. White Sox

A lot of career struggles from Tigers hitters against White Sox starter Jake Peavy. Miguel Cabrera is 8-for-35 (.229) for his career off Peavy, but 6-for-13 with five RBIs over the last couple years. Prince Fielder is 8-for-24 off Peavy, including 4-for-9 with two doubles this year.

Keep the Sox in the yard and you win the game. The wind is blowing out to RF but will calm down a little later. So says the prediction.

peavy has been giving up the long ball lately too

I’m confused……I thought that Sale was pitching tonight? I’ve been out of town for work and missed it. Didn’t want their little star to start against Velander?

tomorrow against Porcello…..then Humber vs. I don’t wanna talk about it

For you Dempster hopefuls, the Dodgers have made an offer on him. The details are unknown, but as reported it appears to be underwhelming.

best lineup, huge game tonight, Sale and Sox scared so they made the move! Go Tigs

Well … they are going to have to have much better discipline than that.
Grind it out, boys. You are not going to see alot of fat pitches this weekend.
— Bob

They arent grinding. They are fishing.
Lay off the crap in the dirt. This is going to get frustrating.
— Bob

At the game not pleased so far here in the 3rd. Jv doesn’t lok sharp and well the hitters and fielders (Fielder) are pathetic. Pick it up, a long way to go.

Why was Verlander upset? It was all on him. It was not strike. And he served a fastball in the middle

21 doubles. Jhonny is hitting

All began with Berry, again
He was not running but Peavy thougt he was and forgot about the real threat.
Berry and Miguel from 1 to 3 with a single. it is the 5th? time Cabrera does it in a week.
Delmon delivering as usual againt WSox

That was a great inning. The 3,4, and 5 guys came through.
Great bounce back inning. Shut them down JV.
— Bob

What a great at bat by AJ. That at bat right there is a perfect snapshot of this year’s version of AJ compared to last year’s version. He has had a terrible night at the plate but he battled in that at bat and grinded out a huge knock. Huge.
— Bob

Good running. Keeping alive the inning

Here we go. Fasten your seatbelts.
— Bob

So 3 teams released him?

Our gain their loss.

Well, that was like ending the concert with your best song and leave ’em begging for more. Good catch, Q.
I don’t know why the Chicago hitters were whining about the strike zone. Alan Porter is the best ball and strike man in the business, for my money. His middle name should be Fox-zone, or K-zone, or whatever. Just proves that it can be done.
Man, it’s nice to have the boys back. The race is on for real now.

No team is as good as they look when are winning, not as bad as they look when are losing. But with the players coming around , they look almost flawless.

My oh my! How about those Tigers? after the five straight whiffs from Mr. Jake, the guys decided to play some baseball. JV was not Mr. Sharpie tonight, but even his average night is far above the competition. What will he do when he matures as a pitcher? I don’t think we have to wait any more. He’s just an amazingly, gifted throwing machine. We didn’t get the “coffin hit” from anybody tonight, but there were three things that I liked about the game:
1. The defense was solid in all aspects of the game. The two outfield catches by the corner guys were awesome. Defense is presenting itself well each game.
2. Mr. V and Mister VV held 2-3-4 to 0 for 12. You can beat the Sox just about every time if you shut down Youk, Dunn, and Pauley.
3. Four hits for four runs with two out. I would have loved to hear Hawk’s groans as each of those runs came in. A great formula for winning games.

Ricky will have to be almost flawless on Saturday, because runs will be a premium against Sell. Don’t want to get too greedy, but we need this one as a cushion for Sunday’s game. Man, I’m startin’ to bleed Tiger Royal Blue . Good evening to all!

How many hits did our pitchers allow in the last three games???
