Thursday: Tigers vs. Rangers

Thought it would be interesting to see how the Tigers put together their lineup for Yu Darvish, an obviously unique pitcher whom they haven’t seen before. It’s a pretty standard lineup for Detroit tonight, the one change being that Don Kelly gets the start over Ryan Raburn. Kelly will play left field, with Delmon Young at DH.

  7. Don Kelly, LF
  8. Jhonny Peralta, SS

Why two short stops? Are they using the shift all game?

The luxury roster. 1+
is Dirks ok? I guess he would be there if so

For sure , Kelly deserves to be there

El Tigre … hope you can run over to mlive too read my post concerning Maggs … hasta

Ramon will be at 2nd, mistype. I like the lineup give Don a shot, Raburn hasn’t shown much of anything this season. Be interested to see us against Yu, I have a feeling tonights score will be much higher than what we saw in the KC series.

No santiago is starting at 2B tonight SIR!

Jackson CF, Boesch RF, Cabrera 3B, Fielder 1B, Young DH, Avila C, Kelly LF, Peralta SS, Santiago 2B, (Wilk P)

Big series tonight

i see Clete was 0-4 with 4 strikeouts last night.

great lineup today boys!!! Sad dirks not in there – anybody know of updates on him or fister?

The way the Rangers have been hitting, this will be a very tough series. Of course, there is a little more space in the outfield at Comerica compared to Fenway. Hopefully Texas has used up some hits. The Tigers can’t expect to win many games with only 3-4 runs. Is the Tiger pitching better than the Red Sox at holding down the Rangers? Yes, Raburn, Inge and even Boesch looked hopeless in the last few games. Here we go……….

Why not Peralta between Avila and Kelly?? Just asking.

good point – I would have!

Per usual, the opposing pitcher is struggling coming into tonight (.450 OBP) —-the tigers can either a) get him back on track or b) keep him struggling. I know which one usually happens – and I hope that is not tonight’s outcome.

The Tigers are going to have to play hard, the Rangers will not roll over. Going to Sundays game, hoping to see our boys do some damage. Congrats to Pudge on his great career.

They ended 6-3 againt them last regular season. The Tigers are better this year .

Too early for me to say the Tigers are better than last year. They looked good on paper once before and it came back to bite them. Think Sheffield & Rent-a-Reck year. Don’t get me wrong, I am a die hard Tigers fan. But, the Rangers are no slackers.

Texas 10-1. No Tiger hitting. No Tiger relief pitching.
