Wednesday: Tigers vs. Twins

So of course, the Tigers have Brandon Inge at third today. That’ll teach me about posting blog entries in the middle of the night.

For what it’s worth, Inge didn’t know he was starting at third base, so it doesn’t sound like any sort of master plan.

Ramon Santiago and his sunglasses get the start at second.

No Mauer nor Morneau for the Twins today on their bus ride from Fort Myers. Other than that, there are a surprising amount of regulars in their lineup today if you really look at it and realize who they’ve lost over the last year or so.

Not liking to hear about Brandon Inging back into 3rd base.
More from the standpoint they may not be as comfortable behind the scenes with Miguels injury as they are in the media. This could mean a little added DH time for Miguel at the beginning.

Inge will make the team as a backup infielder. His defense at 2B and 3B are above average, which helps.

When Miguel is ready to play again he MUST play 3B, you can’t be gun shy over there.

am i wrong to think JL said Inge had to hit this ST to make the team? or was that just a starting position…..

He said he had to hit.

Yes, Inge has to hit better than his competition (I am guessing Worth).

If you are in MI, the game is on FSD. Mario, Rod and an announcer from the Twins will be in the broadcast booth.

Hey thats a very good batting order. Brandon will make the team because he can play. Cabby im sure will not be in peak form untill after mid season. And thats ok. We want him ready for post season work. This is a team that has oppourtunity and the depth of players only strengthens that.

Might as well get Inge some reps in spring training if you’re going to pay him in this final contract year of his Tiger career. He’ll make the team going north because of his glove. If Castellanos was ready, which he isn’t, Inge would have been gone.

With Raburn in the second or third spot that could be the updated lineup against Jon Lester…
