Friday: Tigers vs. White Sox

Magglio Ordonez, 15-for-29 lifetime off John Danks, gets the start in right field. Carlos Guillen, 7-for-16 off Danks, does not start at second base. That goes to Ramon Santiago, who surprisingly has not faced Danks in his career.

Pleasantly surprised that Ramon is starting. Regarding those stats vs Danks, Guillen is 3 for 9 the past three seasons. Magglio is 1 for 6 this season. Maggs didn’t face Danks last year for some reason, but before that he regularly had Danks for lunch. I don’t put much stock in those “vs” numbers unless it’s a large sample and the player in question is still the hitter he used to be. All that aside, I’m definitely in favor of starting Ordonez on this particular night.
This will be fun, try to enjoy it, folks. These are the games we wait for.
