Thursday: Tigers at Rays

Brennan Boesch is out of the lineup today, and judging by Jim Leyland’s remarks, he’s a little worse than day-to-day with the sprained right thumb.

“I don’t want to paint a bleak picture,” Leyland said Thursday morning, “but I don’t think it’s too good.”

With Boesch out and Miguel Cabrera on paternity leave, Leyland looked for ways to keep Alex Avila in the starting lineup. He debated using him at DH, but the team medical staff said Victor Martinez wasn’t ready for first base. He debated using Avila at first base, but worried about him getting injured on a freak play at a position he hasn’t played since college.

Eventually, Leyland decided to bite the bullet and give Avila a total day off.

hahaha – MR. JACKSON COME ON DOWN!!!

by golly i think we could win this one~

Did Mario just say Miguel had a baby boy. I was in the kitchen and heard something. Miguel, Jr.?

this lineup is gold – bhahaha

Think they said Christopher but I could be wrong.

Christopher Alexander.

What did I miss? This thing with Penny and Maddon?

Thanks Jason I just read your post.

Yes, thanks for the explanation. That puts a whole new light on the supposed incident. I thought Penny made a fool of himself, but he didn’t.

Well they (the Tigers ) are hitting the ball hard, but not finding many gaps. Fister is looking good so far.

Well, that was a poor at-bat by Victor. Swung at a ball way outside.

Well the Tigers were hitting it hard, not so much anymore.

They can talk al they want about Jackson wning the gold glove and with the plays he makes he probably should. As he should of won roy last year. However as much as Rod says it is changing away from a catagory that is tied to offense. We shall see. I suspect they will give it to Granderson, Ellsbury (who is deserving) and Hamilton or Bautista. That’s just how it is.

Seriously does anybody in this Tigers organization bunt? This is something that everyone needs to practice and learn how to do. Seriously inept.
